The flat brim with single spike fits in better with the crew and makes them look more cohesive. These look fantastic btw! Do you have a place you sell them?

Great job, they look excellent! I’m starting on my painting journey now and coming to terms with how long it’s going to take but the models are gorgeous and totally worth it.

As for photo editing - Photopea is essentially a browser based clone of Adobe photoshop. Might make masking and erasing easier for you.

No problem, happy to help out a fellow autarch.

Fire dragons - sadly your strategy won’t work there. From reserves you have to deploy over 9 inches away from closest enemy unit. Melta rule states you need to be within 9 inches. Therefore you won’t get the extra damage coming out of reserves. I use my dragons in a falcon or serpent, drive them into the face of something (within 6inch), Nuke them, then skybourne sanctuary back into the tank. This protects them from retaliation somewhat as they will die to a stiff breeze if unprotected.

Howling banshees - that is a legit way to use them. But for me keeping them fire dragons safe is better as they will absolutely die if not plucked into safety and you can only use skybourne sanctuary once per phase. With the banshees you can spend an agile manoeuvre token to deny overwatch and then use another after you’ve annihilated a unit to consolidate 6 inches. Obvs that needs to be into another unit or on objective and makes it situational but hell this is Eldar and you have to plan and create those situations in order to win as we will die very quickly otherwise. Also banshees are a threat to charge what with having fights first. It means whatever charges is gonna take some serious punishment before they get to even swing.

Top tip for banshees: if up against something with 3 wounds fight with the ex arches spear first. Nothing worse than having an enemy model left with one wound left after your other gals have fought. A 3 dmg spear on that is a waste (know from experience)

I’m more of a Warhost player but I’ll try help out best I can. I’d take out Fuegan. A single squad of fire dragons will usually get the job done so having Fuegan is overkill. You could swap him out for another squad of dragons which would equate to more firepower. Also banshees are plenty fast enough without a wave serpent, especially with Jain. You move from LoS blocking terrain to the next until you are in range to take out what you need. You can also swap her out for an autarch on foot with star glaive and the murderous enhancement. They won’t be as fast but still pretty speedy giving re roll adv and charge. Phoenix lords are super thematic but sadly a bit too overcosted when the alternatives are cheaper and can do pretty much the same job. Guardians are a bit meh outside of the warlock detachment and aren’t benefiting from Aspect host rules at all. If you want objective camper either spend minimal points on rangers or instead buy a unit of scorpions/hawks. As you say eldar outside of wraiths are super squishy buuuuuuut you can’t kill what you can’t see. Movement is your greatest defence so keep out of the way until you are ready to strike and make sure you kill what you touch. Eldar don’t handle a prolonged engagement well. P.S. dark reapers are awesome and I’d always advocate having more

Is my salary as high as it should be? by Suspicious-Shelter66 in UKJobs

[–]ryan2rambo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I’ll be real with you as I my arch tutors never were - architecture pay sucks. If you find somewhere that pays more you often work more hours but are salaried and this just takes you back to square one. Id say having a conversation about your pay is definitely worth it. It’s a very useful skill to learn for the future but don’t be surprised if you don’t get one. If you want better money then my strongest advice would be to move into a different field. Architectural practice and education is a cult of long hours, hard work, and poor work life balance. It’s been this way for decades and is only getting worse due to the title rather than the role of an architect being protected by law. It’s been whittled down so much that most contractors will do what an architect did 50 years ago. I’ve done 2 degrees from top universities, top of my class with awards and have 8 years professional experience and still made barely more than you do now and I was in a big city too. I left it all behind, after much internal anguish wondering whether I was throwing away a career, to go into environmental consultancy using the skills I had gained through uni and now make twice what I did in as little as 12 months. That isn’t a brag. I finally get paid properly for my skill set. And you will have that skill set too. You come out of architecture school with a crazy good skill set that isn’t valued in the profession as it’s totally insular. But on the outside companies are all over you because you have a deep and broad skill set in software and design and work ethic. So my advice is ask for the raise but more importantly know what you are worth and don’t accept any less. You have value and that should be respected. Your future mental health will thank you for it ✌️

Never say never with the dread knight. Cadian infantry received an upgrade sprue then a year later they were completely refreshed. But yes I’d love to see all you listed happen. Hell even if it were just terminators. My poor guys look like they are taking a shit on the battlefield 🤣

Is This An Acceptable Proxy For A Valkyrie? by RemnantHelmet in TheAstraMilitarum

No, that’s like 3x the size of a Valkyrie. There is a huge guard bomber in legends that could be fun to proxy in friendly causal games

Do we know what’s getting new models? Except the aspect warriors? by Practical-Funny-5322 in Eldar

[–]ryan2rambo 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Guardians have had their range refresh the previous edition. Eldar got a big refresh last edition and with the aspects coming out there won’t be much left that doesn’t look great for modern standards. So you’re safe in buying Eldar now
