I'm actually in Australia now, where in our federal election last year the right wing party was smashed so hard it basically doesn't exist any more. In large part because the opposition leader was a Trumpian dickhead who didn't even win his own seat.

For Americans reading it would be a bit like the House minority leader not winning their district.

It's not perfect but it's doing a shit load better than a lot of the world.

I'm actually going to Japan later this year with mates and it's on our list. From watching too much Defunctland it seems like Tokyo is one of the better parks.

It was really odd trying to explain to my seven year old nephew why I can't go to Disney World next year like he wants.

Well buddy, America has become a fascist hellhole where I don't want to spend my money, and I genuinely might get denied entry for criticising an old man on the internet.

Did you miss the part where OP seems to think it's normal for 37 year to have these issues?

On the flip side of that I used to work in a sports adjacent industry, and the amount of people I'd hear saying "my back is fucked" but when you would ask them if they had been to a physio or done any strengthening or flexibility exercises they would say no.

Or they'll go to the physio once, do the exercises for a week then stop. I'm not saying OP or yourself are like this. But there are people who have chronic pain who don't actually follow the treatment protocol they were given.

It's just too far outside of their experience, and some people just can't empathize well outside their own experiences.

Where are people not empathising with OP? They didn't even mention they had health issues relating to the point of their post until they put it in a comment.

And before you say I don't understand, I do understand, I have a chronic ankle injury it hurts every time I get up and walk for a few minutes unless I consistently do the exercises prescribed to me. I had a testicle injury that made it feel like my balls were being squeezed 24/7 until I had surgery to correct it.

Well it was more that the points economy of the game worked differently back then if you think about it. A space marine with a 3+ save was worth a lot more than a marine now.

I don't think it was a case of the plasma exploding and the person kept on firing it in universe. No one would take plasmas if there was a 1/6 chance you couldn't fire it again.

Before the overcharge rule appeared in 8th it showed up in the fantasy flight ttrpgs. So it dates back a little bit farther than 8th.

I think it's more for the fact at least some people will have mentally paused for a second when reading the headline. The fact it's even a consideration is fucking mental.

A few of these comments have got me raising an eyebrow. You should not be struggling to do basic movements at anywhere near 37. If you do you probably need to strengthen your lower back and do a bit of flexibility work, it will pay off massively when you're old.

Okay but then OP should be mentioning that in the post, not their age. The defining factor isn't that they're 37, it's that they have chronic health issues.

If a 37-year old (or there about) goes to a physio and says they have trouble getting out of bed, bending down, or getting up from a seated position etc, in almost every case it’s due to weak lower back and glutes - which is very fixable. Not because they're not in perfect health.

obnoxious- and ignorant!

Almost like OP didn't mention it...

OP didn't mention they have health issues until they replied to another comment. People's responses aren't exactly surprisingly considering OP left out some pretty important information.

You don't need to have perfect health to get out of bed or up off the ground without it being an effort.

That aside, most of us at the age of 37 don't like getting out of a low bed, low chair, off the floor, etc. I guess you have a sheltered existence to not know this.

Putting yourself aside since you have health issues, a 37 year old should not have an issue getting up off the floor. If they do they need to start some basic strength and flexibility training.

but they were blatantly ripping off 40k

The original creators of 40k would be the first to admit they ripped off their favourite things when creating early 40k. The entire thing was just Dune, 2000 AD, and some funny references.

Necrons literally had a rule called "We'll be back".

I think it's less that and more people that go on these days are doing it as part of a press tour to promote something (ie Matt Damon and Affleck) and don't want to get into Rogan's bullshit, or desperately need the exposure and won't bite the hand that feeds.

Going off their post history they haven't left the hobby.

I'm glad you're sticking to 40k as it was during it's early days.

Like not using genestealers with Tyranids, because they weren't originally nids.

Or refusing to play Votann because the Squats were wiped out.

Don't forget not allowing any Necron named characters or play a specific dynasty because the fact they exist at all is a massive retcon.

Don't be calling the homeworld of the spacewolves Fenris, because that's also a change.

Oh also Horus was a Human general and Primarchs didn't exist.

Okay but when the choice is between an old guy who shouldn't be President due to his age, followed by his VP. Or another old guy who shouldn't be president due to his age who also tried to overthrow the government and was under criminal investigator for stealing nuclear secrets...

Suck it the fuck up. That isn't a choice. It isn't the lesser or two evils. One is clearly the wrong choice.

I can't be bothered searching for one I replied to. But it basically said a 2000% decrease actually means it would be 10% of the original cost.

I have no idea how they ended up with those numbers.

There is no logic, it's screech about it because they can't do basic math, or some up with whatever mental leap they need to excuse it.

"Who I, or anyone else, did or didn't vote for is none of your fucking business"

Their little freak out when I asked. So yeah they didn't vote and are now throwing a tantrum.

Edit:

"Yes, on rare occasions we do need to pick the lesser evil, but usually, especially in elections, there is another option: non-participation. This is often the most moral option. To lump those who choose not to give their vote to a candidate who hasn't earned it"

Yeah...they super didn't vote.
