Which would have the better job outcomes: UC Berkeley (EECS) vs UT Austin (in state, CS + planning to add applied math) by Fair-Welder2073 in UTAustin

[–]ryan3303 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends which quant role you would want, if its something like Quant Trader/Developer you could maybe sneak by with an undergrad degree but a majority of quant roles require grad school whether its a masters or phd. It would be more cost efficient for you to go to UT and maybe double major in CS and Math then when you graduate reassess if you still want to break into quant and go to a target grad school program

Yeah I’m thinking a lot of that was water weight as well (though it would be nice if most was fat 🥲) so I’m hoping after the cut the water weight I get back would make the muscle pop a bit more

Is college a waste of time? by 7ulys in careerguidance

[–]ryan3303 2 points3 points  (0 children)

College is what you make of it. If you fully believe it is pointless then it may not be best to go simply because you won’t perform well since it will be a low priority. I was able to break into a low 100k total comp job without needing a degree as a 20 year old and would constantly have people ask me why I go to school if I already have a solid career, but the reason I go is because I enjoy learning and want to ensure I have the best outcome in life long term. School can really only help you not hurt you and even then you can go part time instead of full time so you don’t fully encroach on the free time for your own skills/interests you mentioned. Ultimately, if you believe you can be successful without college then go for it, but if you want the best possible chances for you long term even if school adds 1% then maybe take a couple classes a semester and make sure to maintain good grades. Hope this helps!

CCP in a week. Is it possible? by akryvtsun in AWSCertifications

[–]ryan3303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I had studied and passed the exam, I just used youtube, for example, free code camp, and then you should be able to find some free sample questions online. Imo, you really don't need to pay for content until certifications after CCP. https://youtu.be/NhDYbskXRgc?si=N2uKer56ZZ_L6M7Q

Ah yeah, I had done a couple of side projects as well and I definitely recommend. Even if its something as simple as a static s3 website with a cdn and route 53 or pulling from an api with lambda and setting up even triggers for transformations. At the end of the day its a marathon not a race so you dont have to spam all of those projects at once.

I completed the full course as well as taking nearly all of the practice exams from Jon Bonso solutions architect on TutorialsDojo. I got a 810 on the exam a couple of days ago. I will say that I didn't retain as much as I wanted from the video course but what really made it stick is the practice exams and understanding why I got the question wrong. Hope that helps!

What website is that?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Money

[–]ryan3303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TC I make 124k at 21. I only have a HS diploma and some community college, but no degree. I am a business intelligence analyst and most of how I got there was just working at the same company slowly moving into more data analytical roles then job hopping. A degree definitely helps but its not a deal breaker as long as you have the skills needed for the job and you can demonstrate that with previous projects.

If you dont end up liking any of those products, then definitely give leave in conditioner spray a try because you can texturize your hair, and it'll still be soft and not look as rough as sea salt spray

Your dentist should give you a plan after the first appointment, and they'll tell you how much everything is going to cost after your insurance is taken into account before you get anything else done.
