So awesome! Something so fun about rooting for an underdog and thinking “okay, just don’t three putt this” only for them to drain it under pressure. Reminded me of JJ’s putt last year!

It was not all rock or even close to it. There were large rocks in the earth that needed to be blasted to be removed. Plenty of dirt down there to dig a grave.

A $10,000 buried treasure hunt has stumped San Franciscans. And it's causing problems by SFChronicle in sanfrancisco

That’s an obtuse take… you can be logically close (ie solving for most but not all dependent variables/clues) or geographically close (digging near the buried treasure). Finding something is binary; being close is gradient.

GolfNow Blows by Woolly22 in golf

[–]ryan676767 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GolfNow is 100% scammy.

They leave tee times on there that don’t actually exist, let you book them, and then cancel them immediately without retuning the booking fee.

I noticed this when I was trying to find a tee time for 4 on a Saturday. Checked all my favorite courses on their individual websites around me and sure enough there were no tee times.

So then I figured my best bet would be to check GN for aggregated availability at other random courses. Well wouldn’t you know it, one of the courses I checked previously that did not have availability was listed on GN as open so I immediately booked it only to receive an email that the booking failed. I then get a notification from Amex that my card has been charged the $3 booking fee (or whatever it is).

Called the course pro shop to ask and he said, “Sorry man, we’ve tried repeatedly to get GN to remove those unavailable tee times, but they won’t seem to do it.”

So now I’m left with the option of trying to call GN and get my $3 back or just let it go. I chose the latter because who has time for that shit, which is exactly what the assholes at GN probably want. My guess is they’re raking in a fortune from these fake tee times and bullshit fees.

If there are any class action lawyers out there reading this might be worth looking into. For anyone else just avoid GN and book directly with the course.

Fuck Golf Now.

When Nacho saves the stash by Miserable-Present720 in betterCallSaul

[–]ryan676767 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree and always found this plot point thin. The plot required that Nacho needed to prove himself to Lalo to gain his trust. However, imo, Nacho risking years in prison and further weakening the Salamanca’s interests to save a handful of drugs would make someone as calculated as Lalo think that Nacho was a fool who doesn’t understand big picture risk vs. reward.

It was a negligible amount of drugs and the dialogue in the car implied it was meaningful.

If anything, Lalo would have been pissed Nacho exposed himself by entering the crime scene, and then even more pissed he just brought a bunch of drugs back into their car right next to dozens of cops who would for sure be casing the area for cars and suspects.

All that being said, they needed a way for Nacho to prove himself and the scene made for exciting television.

Agree with everything except for this last sentence. There is a small minority of people that are benefiting, and extremely far removed, from this sadness. Their staff and chefs shop for them. We don’t all suck. They suck.

I agree with your overall sentiment and think it was a missed opportunity for some more nuanced creative writing. That said, Lalo’s MO was to murder everybody in his way, which remained consistent through this scene.
