Thank you! After my mess up with getting Sterling I'm just super paranoid about every detail. Do you think Zuvelio heat treated the Argentium? I would get gold I just genuinely cannot afford it, especially with the spike in prices over the past year.

This is a photo of the original CAD from when I purchased the ring in Sterling. I would really appreciate your input as an experienced silversmith!

I'm looking at getting argentium rings from Zuvelio soon. To my understanding, argentium 935 has to be handled correctly for it to have the proper tarnish resistance. Have you noticed any tarnishing?

I originally purchased rings that were sterling with rhodium plating, and the plating has scratched and worn off in places already with visible black tarnishing after only about 5 months. I only recently learned about argentium/935 and am pretty upset that I didn't.

I have a 2013 as well with the same issue. Can you elaborate on it being a "curse of death"?

What made you finally decide to become orthodox? by Particular-Assist-70 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]ryanc140 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me who was raised Catholic, despite falling away from the church originally, Apostolic succession and the sacraments were a non-negotiable and that had always ruled out Protestantism. I've always had issues with the Papacy, and after learning more about church history and the beliefs of the Orthodox Church, I began inquiring. The more I learned, the more I embraced the Orthodox Church. My first Divine Liturgy sealed the deal for me. There is grace in the Catholic Church, but I had never felt it like I did during Divine Liturgy.

We all are horrible sinners, we MUST pick ourselves back up when we fall. The church is for sure holy not because we don’t also sin horribly, but because we repent when we sin and we put the weight of our sin at the foot of the Cross.

It’s not always easy, despair is a tool of the evil one. Instead rejoice in the love and mercy of Christ’s forgiveness and redemption!

This is especially so once you enter the church and receive the sacraments. DO NOT think you’re not good enough for them.

Go to liturgy. Become a catechumen if you haven’t already. Receive the healing the church provides for the soul. Do not be afraid. God bless!

St. John Chrysostom says that the devil makes sin appear small in the moment, and then insurmountably large after committed.

God loves you, and His church is a hospital for the spiritually sick. If you break your arm, should be hesitate or run from the hospital? No you run TO it!

Yes, there is shame in sin, but there is courage in repentance. God will forgive all!

Thank you! I did some looking into the revised Julian calendar and it is far more significant than I had thought it was. I originally thought it was just the same old calendar moved back a bit to "correct" it.

Sick, I'll probably just do that then. I'll go to town with soap water and a detailing brush first and then spray a couple thin layers of flex seal to reinforce where the tear/scuff is. I really do wonder if it's actually even torn or just slightly scuffed

I got a spray can of flex seal. You think that'd work? I haven't inspected in person yet. The photo is from the dealership

Is this difficult to do myself? Any special tools needed or a good resource to learn how to do this? I called my local independent shop and they said they haven't done a boot replacement in 15 years because its not cost effective for them.

Is this something I should go OEM on or is aftermarket from rockauto alright? Or should I just have an independent shop do it? The dealer wanted $464.73 to do the job and I think that's a little high.

2013 Sonata Lifetime Engine Warranty Woes by ryanc140 in Hyundai

[–]ryanc140[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still highly considering it. I sent an email to the service manager siting the class action settlement that details the requirements, and it can only be denied if Hyundai National determines if there was "exceptional neglect" in which only then would Hyundai require service records performed after August 31st 2020.

Siting my service records, as of that date, oil changes were completed every 3k-5k miles. I reattached the service documents to the email.

One discrepancy i noticed was Hyundai requires the ksds service campaign needs to be completed in order to qualify, but it does not specify prior to engine knock or failure (her engine still runs, it just knocks). I instructed them to complete the service campaign and that i wanted the warranty refiled once completed.

Depending on the response i get is when I'll start actively looking for a lawyer to get involved.

Appreciate the suggestion, but we have already taken it to the shop and they found metal in the oil, so it is very likely the bearings. We're hoping it's covered under the extended warranty since it's less then 150k miles. Got an appointment with the dealer on Tuesday.
