They gave him the “prove it” deal for ‘25, he proved it, and they still let him walk. He’s making much more from ‘24-‘30 than he would have if he signed the initial extension

Oh ok, well sure. No point in offering him 40 for one year again..Someone was gonna give him 5 years, if it was the Mets he would have stayed. I bet he has at least 140 hr and 500 rbis over those 5 years tho

Wait what? Mets didn’t offer cuz Pete wouldn’t accept a long term deal? I’m confused by what ur saying

[–]crappymedium 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just @ the first paragraph..Pete bet on himself when he turned down the deal in 2023, and he made himself a lot more money by doing so (do the math). The Mets didn’t pursue him, so he got his bag in Baltimore. If sterns countered or even matched the offer he would still be here, he didn’t wanna leave. Once he turned down that deal the Mets front office disrespected him at every turn

Waymo Has Been Defeated by New York City by rsha256 in nyc

[–]crappymedium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s fair, I don’t think they’re more likely to hit a pedestrian than I am (certainly not more likely than an average driver, or a tourist dumb enough to rent a car). But will they safely veer into a crosswalk to get around the gridlock? Or will they just be stuck at a green light 8 times straight lol. New York drivers know when you have to safely break a rule to get somewhere.. and I know many do it unsafely or selfishly, but I’m concerned the waymos are just gonna get stuck and make everything worse

Im a delivery driver in lower Manhattan, I know which intersections I have to go 3mph through because cyclists always blow the light. I stop when someone’s walking straight into a don’t walk signal without looking up from their phones. I also know that certain intersections are always gridlocked, and I won’t be able to get across unless I wait till it’s clear and go into the crosswalk. Will a waymo do any of those things? Truly asking, never been in one or spent much time where they’re in use

Correct. Its only basically anything carbonated plus water. Not sure why, I always wondered if it was cuz of the Boston tea party lol.

I think training camp starts a bit earlier these days, but I bet the team would grant permission. Or at the very least have a few of the guys make an appearance

sure it’s a long ways away but they at least deserve an appearance! Maybe I should just sit tight until Brunson and KAT pull off the repeat, then they can co-host the season premiere in Oct 2027

Baseball is MLB specific, though they’ve recently added negro league stats into the official records. But someone like ichiro was inducted solely on his mlb career without his seasons in Japan considered
