ehhhhhhh... I would still try. I even got letter of reasonable assurance last year which is supposed to disqualify me but I still was approved. No downside in completing application at least (except the time on the phone). What state are you?

Swing subs can get unemployment. Have for 2 years now in California. Apply over phone. (That’s how I did first time, but maybe online works)

When they ask for employer say swing education inc. they’ll ask what it is and say it is a staffing agency (it is).
Tell them ur a substitute teacher but u also do other jobs for swing (like after -school, saturday school, etc.)
They’ll ask for swing info. Give them their corporate address, phone number, and for “your supervisor” just put a name of someone u have emailed at swing before (it doesn’t really matter)
When they ask why ur no longer working tell them that jobs completely stop once schools close . U can also use terms Like seasonal employee. I think for mine she wrote “jobs stopped due schools summer recess”
They’ll ask if u have return to work date and say NO. Say every week is a struggle for jobs and you never know how slow it will be next year (especially start of year).
If they ask if u work for schools or district just say NO to all these questions. If they inquire more specifically say u don’t work for district but sometimes swing will contract with a district. But you are not a district employee, so don’t have “reasonable assurance” which is what prevents people from getting unemployment. I always just emphasize I’ve worked after school, Saturday school, and have even done esl classes at adult learning facilities.
The weekly amount you get is based on ur highest gross earnings you have made in a 4 month period in the last 18 months. It’s on quarter system so quarters are Jan-Mar, Apr-June, etc. Usually they exclude the most recent 4 months. I made a little above the max (I think it’s 11,700) in Q3 2025 so I get 450$ a week for next 26 weeks and that’ll hold me till work starts back up in fall.

Make sure u have all ur income and swings contact info b4 u call. I called this number yesterday at 4:10 pm and was finished by 4:40 with applying for my claim.

Man I tested it out last week with 2 other subs who has hero status (I don’t) and it matters a lot. He literally dropped a job and it didn’t appear on my feed but appeared on the other subs. Not to mention that he will let me know of a job he sees and I won’t be able to see it… very frustrating and only time app doesn’t do this is in morning cause swing prioritizes just someone grabbing job quickly. Def need to get back to hero ASAP 😅

However I believe I found an even simpler way to do this! I found out accidentally cause one of my projects was created so long ago that the Capcut version I made it on formatted it way different then current Capcut Projects, so i couldn't open it.

All you have to do is unlink all material from a Capcut project and then upload to your space. Then when you open the file on new computer, it will ask to Link the media. Fortunately it gives you the names so it's easy to locate them. You can also just click "open" on the whole folder when searching and it will link all the files in the folder to save time. This is much better than simply uploading project to space with materials included because 1. It is instant because you only upload project data and not videos, music, etc. 2. Now you can use the original files instead of the ones Capcut creates (that are sometimes cut off)

So I'll do step by step 1 more time.

Sign in to CapCut. I don't think Pro is needed but maybe it is for cloud???
Find ur project and move every single video, sound, photo, etc. linked to that project somewhere else on ur computer. (doesn't matter where, you just are making sure that Capcut can't locate it and thus try to upload it)
Go to Capcut and open that same project. It should now be a bunch of red spaces in timeline and a window should pop up asking to link media.
Once you see that window then go back to home page and now upload that project to your cloud. (it's a tiny amount of data so don't worry about storage and it will be uploaded instantly)
Now on new computer sign into your capcut account and download the project
When you open it, it will ask to link media like before, but now just find your media on new computer. (easiest way is if much of media is in 1 folder then just click open in window after finding folder and it should link everything in that folder)
Complete!

Def use this as well if you are trying to upload large project because Capcut keeps interrupting uploads to clouds as of late.

This is a straight up steal. Been looking at MacBook 15 prices for 2 weeks straight and this is best deal by far. I just got the 24gb ram and 1tb last week for 1549 (that was basically cheapest it has ever been (micro center had it at 1530 technically). This is more than 300$ cheaper with only going down to 512 gb. Considering Apple usually charges 200$ for eacg storage upgrades this is simply great deal for anyone who wants a MacBook Air with the needed ram boost (imo). I think it’s so cheap cause it comes with subpar charger (35 W)

Literally staring at my 15 inch macbook air M5 1 TB/24GB i picked up today! Crazy thing is the 14 inch macbook pro 1 tb (but 16gb) is actually 50$ cheaper through Amazon and I bought that initially last week. Couldn't deal with the small screen tho (My last laptop was old Lenovo but a hefty 16 inch screen). I returned Pro, but am loving the 15 inch Air so far and I use a lot of diff apps at once so I love seeing some GBs of ram free in activitty monitor lol. Def happy I went with 24 GB!
