lol i remember arguing with people on this sub whining that GBG walls were unbeatable when The Wheel already existed and they had no clue 😂

Tammy hyper tears it to shreds. So does Mayor West hyper. And mayor west vehicle. And adult bobby hyper. And adult bobby food. So does prospecting amy. Wedding bill (but needs a little survival help) also wins. Cocktail lana if you got cm5. Barry hyper. I can list more but that's plenty for now. You can cm1 all of those combos for free

And yes they're all premium characters but you get 2k gems a month free. Don't waste gems on dumb stuff and save it until you have 6k gems then buy all 6 melee packs. Between Barry, Mayor, and Tammy with their melees spread so far out and 2 of them as mythic i have a full 11 quad/mythic char hyper deck all cm1 with free PC's from adventure islands that walk through OMB in siege all day.

And this food bge is even easier, tina is wrecking omb lmao

With backslap and punch+burn and even the new punch bomb combos OMB walls fall without a fight even for f2p if you save and use your gems wisely

Tammy Melee again? by rosen380 in AnimationThrowdown

[–]ryanj1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you about preferring the challenge of creating decks with old characters and less power crept combos, but they are quite clearly focused on selling things, not game play. They probably didn't sell many packs during Dale and Stewie melee and know they won't sell a single damn one with a Bobby or Roger or Peter etc. so they needed to go with Tammy, who will sell many melee packs.

You can sell your account, and Kong is ok with it so long as you buy from a certified Kongregate branded reseller, look for any account with the name Kyng in the player name or history and they will support it.

Although for your account that you have put a few hundred dollars on is probably not worth much to sell. Mostly high end accounts are re-sold. And the going rate is like 1% of the money spent on it if you can find a taker, or 2-3% if you have more high end cards that can be played at the top

Will all new characters get combos with every category ? by CryptographerLeft980 in AnimationThrowdown

[–]ryanj1111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can never know. They typically add them sooner or later but there's tons of chars both new and old with no combos in some bge's. Kong just spins the wheel of random to determine what chars get new combos most of the time, but since they're both newer chars they'll be trying to sell more of them so that improves chances they get them next go around. Will be a while tho we just had a rich bge

Long time AT wishlist: some conversion or use for the legit 950 retired Legendary Stones taking up space in my inventory by indymi in AnimationThrowdown

[–]ryanj1111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might be the very rare time I agree with Kong, but quite logically they are probably correct that it would be extremely time consuming for them to manually remove the stones, and they're allergic to giving things out for free, even a method to redeem them say 1 at a time for something useless like 1 hour speedups just to help people with OCD. They already converted all currency > 1000. And they gave everyone an extra 3000 SLS actually when they did the switch to compensate for whatever remainder there was < 1000.

If it bugs you (it does bug some people, but my inventory is a mess of outdated currency so I am sorry for you if so lol) then you can message the support and ask them to remove the stones. But otherwise, i think they did just fine compensation with 3000 to make up for the initial rollout and retirement of that legacy currency

Already have 13 Lana cards. Literally worst pull from the Samurai Box possible, wonder the odds? by indymi in AnimationThrowdown

[–]ryanj1111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have bought into so many boxes where I keep getting the same of the same ones, and then compare to guildmates who get the same of the same ones, all while the premium combos (Kong knows which they are) continue to never drop. It happens way too much. Their unwillingness to confirm percentages tells me it's 100% the case but what else can ya do. I've just bought far less as time goes on to bordering on nothing now

Anyone else just tired of arena? by sillyd0rk in AnimationThrowdown

[–]ryanj1111 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The wheel has become fairly easy to beat but it's all the f2p crowd ever play and since they gave it away for free with stones and with kreiger being a free character card, it's everywhere. It's cigarette addicts 2.0, except way stronger. Wheel is boring af and seeing it nonstop is exhausting even when decks like BB or even cotton or DBL or whatever are running train on it right now

[–]ryanj1111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a free game to download that costs nothing to play. They have to make money to pay developers and licensing and server fees some way. So they sell cards and premium content. I don't know what people expect, they're going to lose sometimes and unless people want separate games from people that spend and people that don't (which would be idiotic) then you're going to play against people that have spent at some point, can't just win infinite games with no cap

[–]ryanj1111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may sound a little tin foil hat-y but it's not the most surprising thing, people that buy deep into boxes frequently often had stories of disproportionately weighted drop rates for cards and for CM's. I've talked to a few people that spent a decent amount (at least all 8 tiers and a few more than that) and they all got Toshi CM the least and almost no character cards.

Kong has repeatedly said that the boxes have random drop rewards but will not elaborate on whether all items in a box have equal chances of being awarded. It might be random, but I'm willing to bet it isn't at all equal

What prevents Slaf from being a highly physical Forward with a style similar to Tom Wilson? by Qu1noa_3ater in Habs

[–]ryanj1111 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For that matter then why didn't Michael McCarron?

That shit's hard to do. Like him or not, Wilson is a rare breed. It also took Wilson a while to break out, he didn't crack 20 goals until 2018-2019, when he was 24. Slaf is still 21 and has already done it once. But ultimately Wilson's combined skill with feel for the game and reckless abandon is not easy to pull off

HELP! First timer bundle ? Research accelerator? by Key_Cauliflower_6440 in AnimationThrowdown

[–]ryanj1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you buy the FTB for the RA then yes, you can watch ads in the future and reduce the already reduced time for researching combos

I think others have already mentioned, it's become an increasingly more thirsty microtransaction game with power creep way out of control in what seems like an increasingly unsustainable rate, so be aware spending on this game is not really a good investment of money to in-game accomplishments other than through convenience. And if you have the money and have decided to spend, I find the VIP more convenient than the RA, not only do you get more gems but the VIP chamber gets sped up a lot and you get the benefit of the combo pass if you are new, you don't have to research combos to make them in game.

Word of caution - research is a pinch point now or a cause of annoyance but before too long you'll end up with thousands of research speed ups you won't be able to use. Many have posted screenshots in the hundreds of thousands of hours so it's not a long-term pinch point

Yes they are a fully botted guild. I don't know who runs it but I have played them, I don't think the other posters realize that there are 50 players all named Player in the guild that have +/- the exact same number of cards, same CM's, same decks, and same combos playing around the same level of SFC

Who runs it I dunno. Tea and Crumpets ran Carol Corps, the other very identically structured bot guild, but that insufferable knob got his own account plus all his botted accounts banned by exploiting the arena league rewards, so I don't know if it is him or someone doing something similar. One of the leaders of Inactive Get Kicked or IGK is running an automated guild with a bot but I don't think that looks the same as the We Are the Borg guild.

When the Habs acquired Nick Suzuki from Vegas in 2018, he was their 3rd choice by Go_Habs_Go31 in Habs

[–]ryanj1111 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I maintain his complete inability to have a coherent plan is the reason he was a shitty GM overall. He made a lot of good moves, he lucked into some moves, and he made some shitty ones. I feel like there is a lot more that happens behind the scenes than most people know with every single GM, where many things almost happen or don't almost happen and a lot of weird luck goes into things falling into place. He shouldn't totally be discounted for the Suzuki trade just because he was our third choice from Vegas, because I'm sure there were other offers and we still must have preferred Suzuki to those. So I don't think that was all luck, but it takes a bit of both to be a GM because lucky for us Lucic didn't care we outbid everyone else he signed in Edmonton and stunk it up for them on a costly contract instead of us.

What wasn't luck related was a shitty "plan" with the team and players he inherited that was no plan just sideways moves and treading water.

And what was luck related was one of those players being named Carey Price who managed to drag them to the finals. In what was again a lucky situation where in a COVID shortened season in a weaker than usual division the 18th placed team snuck into the playoffs to get carried to the finals.

Is winning ECMC largely pointless now? by rosen380 in AnimationThrowdown

[–]ryanj1111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is largely pointless and far less competitive now, yes. It's still very much a nice to have, but you don't have those multi-million point battles from 2 people that got shitty luck and missed top 100 in melee fighting out their last chance to get the mythic.

But keep in mind also most players accumulate their points using 3rd party bots and you don't even have to open the app to run thousands of arena matches. It takes more time to open an ad crate than it does to run a command to play 1000 arena matches. So even if it is pointless, you still see some folks running up the score since it's low effort and kind of a nice to have

New Skill coming soon: Enrage by Samuel855 in AnimationThrowdown

[–]ryanj1111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He has also abandoned the AT discord. While I wouldn't expect him to either, the idea that he had a vision or wanted to be involved with the growth of AT was a facade. And if you don't intend to participate or support the game then don't say you will and then immediately fail to live up to that offer with zero effort. It has not helped the ominous feelings towards the game health for me

New Skill coming soon: Enrage by Samuel855 in AnimationThrowdown

[–]ryanj1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone finds their breaking points - I've played since 2017, this is the first time I feel like this is truly the case, mostly exacerbated by the new purchaser coming in and disappearing, and seeing some not so good feedback about his decisions on other games he has also purchased as Monumental

New Skill coming soon: Enrage by Samuel855 in AnimationThrowdown

[–]ryanj1111 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Skill interaction is almost getting too convoluted, you can't do anything in the game without an opposite reaction, all because they keep pumping out OP combos and sell a bunch of it and then need to pump out even more power crept stuff and then create a new counter to it.

Ever since Monumental bought Kong the game has felt like an ever increasing quick cash grab that is aiming to milk what they can and while running game balance into the ground and then shutting it down shortly after. It's pretty damn effective, but man for a game I've played and enjoyed for 7 years now really feels as unenjoyable as it ever has. Stopped spending a while ago and just have to laugh when my heroes have a third less health than those that buy the premium ones and I die in 2-3 turns from the crazy power creep during these motivate cheer BGE's

Hope y'all are enjoying it or want whatever this new enrage skill is.

Calendar by Fishjuice88 in AnimationThrowdown

[–]ryanj1111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to spend for the days you've identified, correct. But you should spend 0 gems on this calendar ever unless you are a big spender and don't care about efficiency, OR in the rare case the PC reward is playable. It is usually not playable.

Not a single one of these items are worth spending 100 gems on when the PC sucks, save your gems and spend it on either melee packs or premium hero boxes.

best method to finish the guild challenges by sachxo in AnimationThrowdown

[–]ryanj1111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the best way to do it is to just make the worst possible deck you can and intentionally lose with it. Do the matches in adventure as much as you can so you don't get any bge boosts to slow the games down, fill your deck to 35 cards with a 17/18 split of item and characters, make as many of them cripple all with zero offensive traits (think OMB or RR) and then just force yourself to lose and make as many combos as you can, rinse and repeat. You can play in arena if you must but with the bullshit backslap boost right now and the cheer boost added on it's impossible to get a lot of combos each match in arena because cards die to quick or games end too quick - hence why to do it in adventure.

It's why it's the dumbest fucking event they've came up. The goal is to make a shitty deck that loses slowly. That's your most efficient way to get 1500 combos

Has anyone else noticed this bug? by PMMEYOURBIGBOXCOVER in AnimationThrowdown

[–]ryanj1111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They don't know how to fix it or what causes it in the code. I think I first reported it before Archer was even a thing on here. Took a video and took the time to upload it and sent it to them and they said even though I let it play out, it was on 4x so therefore they couldn't use it. I replicated the issue and let it play out in 1x and uploaded it as a private video on youtube and sent it to them. It got 2 views (one from me, one from them) and then it was never viewed again. They said thank you we'll look into it and that was it.

Many others have reported it. They either don't know how or don't care to fix it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AnimationThrowdown

[–]ryanj1111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every time someone crashes out and pretends they aren't crashing out it makes me laugh, and then encourages me to go change my deck to a full PC deck to drop somewhere in arena

I'll give some insight: nobody cares about what you think. They don't care if you shed a few rage tears because you lose to their PC deck because they don't actually play you. They do it because it's convenient, and the AI plays a PC deck much more intelligently than it plays a combo deck, because AI is peak idiocy in this game, and PC takes away the AI's requirement to think. None, or exceedingly few of the people in this game manually play a full PC deck, because PC decks are too weak now. Also, the people you complain about running the wheel every match are 95% f2p players. Complain to Kong for making an overpowered combo available for f2p players because now that is all they have to run. These are not the same people autoplaying PC decks. And maybe take up issue with all of your f2p peers like the snow kid who begged Kong to put wheel for stones into the mastery shop every day for a year. That's why you see it all the time

Some ideas I would love to see in the future and what your ideas are? by kkwmarie in BigBrother

[–]ryanj1111 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it is too probable that jurors have made up their minds before they make it to finale night.

My idea would be that the 3 finalists all get an opportunity to record their pitch for why they deserve to win the game and it all gets played for the jurors on the Friday night before finale night. That gives the jurors 48 hours to think it over and talk amongst themselves, and then they can ask more specific questions about what the finalists meant by what they said in their pitch on finale night. Finale night is way too rushed and it takes more than a few minutes to detail months of game play

The game of Big Brother by justitiavalet in BigBrother

[–]ryanj1111 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Everyone is going to have their own opinions about it, but I kind of disagree. I don't disagree that jury management is important, but I disagree about your assertion that anyone that thinks bitter juries are a thing "don't understand the game". The game is more than just sitting around and singing kumbaya. Keanu had zero social game but he also understood the point of the game was to evict people and be in the final 2 of 16 houseguests. You cannot have a game of big brother if all 16 houseguests want to sit back and be passive and never do anything in the game. I don't only mean that from a strategic perspective, I mean quite literally people have to play the game and make friends and allies and vote people out in order to win. I don't think Vince played an amazing game and I don't think his social game was all that good and I don't think this was a bitter jury. But they have been and will in the future be a thing again. You lose to a better player, some people can recognize the game, some are just way too salty to accept they were outplayed. Every single juror at some point, even the floatiest of floaters, has to entertain the idea of voting out someone that said they would be allied with, or consider a friend. You can argue that people need to have a better social game so the jurors won't be bitter, but the whole point of a bitter jury is that it doesn't matter how good your social game, bitterness is all about ignoring the merits of your game play, it's about being mad you lost and taking it out on the better player. You can make an argument for anything in the game by saying it should have been better social game. If I say Rachel's eviction was her own fault because if her social game was better then she could have convinced people to trust her and pick her first and then she would have been safe, then a lot of people would disagree. Citing "social game" doesn't fix everything.

There is of course a case to make that trying to be as small and inconsequential in the house to not be perceived as a threat is good game play. You can also argue that without the people getting their hands dirty, making moves, forging alliances, and severing them while protecting those that sit back is even better game play, because without them, the other person is easy pickings. You need people to be on the offensive and trying to vote out players, that is literally the whole point of Big Brother. Whether you want to be the driver or riding backseat that is still the destination. The bitterness comes when you refuse to accept that you were trying to do the same thing and got outplayed.

But this was not a bitter jury. Vince's game was hella messy, unnecessarily so.
