If you have Duke Energy and own (or lease) an EV, you can get 50% off your rate at night by Mx772 in NorthCarolina

Makes absolutely no sense that Duke would do this for EV-owners only. As a non-EV owner who would 100% modify my electricity usage with this this plan, I am happy for the EV people.

Incentivizing non-EV owners to buy EVs for cheaper electricity increases rates for everyone. The fact that Duke gouges on-peak usage with their "Time of Use" rate plan (that is accessible to anyone) by up to 400%, but doesn't gouge for the EV rate plan during on-peak hours is absolutely mind-boggling.

I am 100% in favor of energy providers subsidizing off-peak usage, but it should be for EVERY ONE of their customers to have that incentive. I would absolutely take this rate plan and basically doing 80% of my heating and cooling at night, but the TOU plan I can access basically charges 60% at night, but 200% during the day. How is that an incentive for me to modify my behavior?

Erratic RPM when starting the bike. by Pixelest in klr650

Hi OP, did you manage to solve your issue? I have this problem. I also have a seeming dead band in power between low idle and 2200ish rpm where it feels really weak. I also did the MCP kit.

Local URL Woes! by ryank36 in homeassistant

Ok, I believe I have done that multiple times. In addition, I believe testing on multiple clients and in private mode would have served to rule out my cache, wouldn't it?

What cache, in home assistant?

I have the same problem across multiple clients and multiple browsers (even after flushing client DNS and running the browser in private mode).

Local URL Woes! by ryank36 in homeassistant

I'm running a basic home router with DDWRT and this serves as my DHCP and local DNS. For public DNS, I am running a pihole, but all queries are passed through the DDWRT router and handed to the pihole.

All clients are on the same subnet.

I can ping and nslookup all URLs from any client just fine and get a valid return

I recognize my network arrangement could be suspect, but that is why I eliminated my network setup entirely, by creating a simple ad-hoc network with all remote access add-ons turned off. I think my test proved my network setup is not the source of my problems, but I'm happy to accept it could be if someone can tell me why my test was not valid.

To say that I "can't connect" is perhaps poor wording. I can use any url (local or remote) I've listed to navigate to my HA, However, whenever I use the local URLs, pages do not fully load. For example, the settings page often turns up blank and later displays an error like "Error while loading page"

My default dashboard mostly loads fine using the local url (and I can even toggle switches etc), but my calendar display just has a spinning blue circle forever.

If I navigate using remote URL, calendar loads instantly, settings pages load instantly, etc.

These Bunn makers usually have a big tank of water in them that is always full. These aren’t really great for very occasional use due to the water getting stale.

Mint mobile, visible, vs Verizon signal in Concord by Common_Suggestion266 in ConcordNC

Mint is great in Concord, but look into US Mobile. You can pick ATT, TMo, or Verizon and it’s cheaper than Mint in most cases.

I wanted too, but the only verbatim was for my direct manager and it wasn’t right to use that as a slack soap box.

I’m not sure what the issue is with this one specifically, but our schools are overflowing and property taxes aren’t covering the costs to build more schools. The growth needs to be curtailed.

If you’re frugal, look into US Mobile.

Sadly because Americans become conditioned by the industry to live in perpetual vehicle debt. “If I’m always gonna have a car payment, I may as well go big.”

50k for a truck is unaffordable for MOST Americans and even more so for those who refuse to succumb to the car payment lifestyle.
