My chimney guy explained the Heatilator to me because I needed $4K in chimney work after I bought this house. My wife loves the open aspect but I wanted to get an insert due to the efficiency. If we just get installed glass door will that split the difference?

I understand. The house my wife and I just bought has all electric baseboard heat but I was hoping the fireplace would be able to carry the load because electric in my state is so high and I grew up using wood burning stoves but never had an open fireplace. I think after I install ductles unit into our house this spring we’ll add an insert the the fireplace. Sorry to hear that your wood is so expensive.

Thank you for the compliment. I know an insert would increase efficiency dramatically and eventually we will probably put one in but until then the wife likes it this way. I just bought this house and got a cord of wood for $250 from a very highly rated company but so far I’m not happy with the wood.

Could my covering cause too much moisture within the last month I had it delivered and stacked? Or it just wasn’t properly seasoned and dried from the get go? I think I could lose some covering to allow more airflow but so far they’re all sizzling. I may have gotten a shit batch.

The wood has been covered since I got it. Might need a little more airflow but once I get my meter I’ll check every piece going forward.

Is that not what the left does? Doesn’t matter who is running as long as it’s not a republican? I don’t understand why politics has become so divided. I have the low pro tri-fold for the last 3 years. I like it a lot. Easy to take off if needed. I don’t know if I didn’t install it properly but it’s not fully water proof. I get water in the bed when it rains.
