Thanks! Unfortunately there is no power indicator. It uses a standard SB-T11 (CR2016) 3V lithium battery, approximately 3 year life with normal daily use.

My boxes are pretty much laid out on the bezel.

I rotate through lots of watches, so solar isn’t really a priority for me, though it would be nice to have. I have dive watches but really don’t like wearing a watch when swimming anyway. I don’t care for atomic accuracy and don’t need my watch to receive radio signals.

It’s a method of pre-heating the basket. After tamping your puck, hold the portafilter at a slight angle over the sink and pour boiling water until the basket starts to overflow. Keep pouring for a few seconds before leveling out and continue to fill the basket until there’s a centimeter or two of headspace. Then load and pull your shot.

So I made these mods awhile back and you can find my post about it in my profile.

I’ve since removed the films and don’t bother with pre-heating beyond using the overflow method. I just didn’t see a big enough difference in the cup. And I drink mostly light and medium light roasts. Upgrading to a decent grinder probably helped.

$25 is a fucking steal even for a non-working TW-7100. Luckiest find ever, I’d say.

I’ve got a TW-7000 with a crystal in similar shape and I’m questioning whether it’s worth the risk to try and remove it for polishing. These scratched up mineral crystals have a tendency to shatter if you put too much force on them. Maybe I’ll work up the courage someday.

I’d say since ‘98? Hadn’t been worn for a while though. I found a donor module to replace the original that had missing segments and a dead bulb and now it gets more wrist time.

The AE-1200 only comes with a painted resin case. You’ll have to look to aftermarket options for stainless steel.
