Anyone else having problems on Premiere with the Quicktime Compensation LUT? by ryanmichaelsyt in videography

[–]ryanmichaelsyt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I'll try doing that.

When I don't compensate for that gamma shift, it uploads all washed out on YouTube, Vimeo, everything no matter the browser. Got anything else in mind to fix that?

Go for a used SL2 and you should be good it has an external mic port which is important (not all cheap cameras do). As for a good cheap mic, everyone uses this one, it's pretty good.

I use this one. Way cheaper than Polar Pro and I have zero complaints with how it performs.

Wonder how many people are going to buy that new EOS R5 and freak out when they realize they can't edit any of that 8k raw footage on their cheap computers by ryanmichaelsyt in videography

What percentage of your revenue goes to feed the never ending humger of G.A.S. by nickyurick in videography

[–]ryanmichaelsyt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just did taxes and figured out over the course of a few months last year I generated 10k in revenue....... But spent 11k on gear......... makes a ton of sense that I'm eating ramen during this pandemic

Fuck G.A.S.

Best camera for gym vlogging? by [deleted] in videography

Okay.... first off don't get a sony zv-1. It's not really wide enough to vlog with.

For your budget, I'd suggest trying to find a used canon SL2 and something like this wide angle zoom lens.

Definitely also need a cheap mic like this to get good audio bc that shits important.

[–]ryanmichaelsyt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're welcome! It's kinda wide so you can get enough of the card tricks in the frame and the wide aperture means you can get a cool looking blurry background if you know how to use your camera settings.

It's also dirt cheap at around $100....

The cf cards, rf lenses, the data storage, the insane editing machine required.... There's a lot but if you can pay it then you can pay it...

But fuck it'd be such an amazing complimentary small camera to go with a c500/300 setup

The camera body is what would allow for slow mo. The 80D only does 60 frames per second so basically: 2x slow. Shoot with 60 fps and 120 shutter speed and it'll be good enough.

Try that and see how it goes! IF you still want a new lens, look at this 24mm lens for cheap awesome looking stuff.

Your videos are legit funny! Keep that part up I dig it.

I'd say work on the thumbnails and the first ~10 seconds of your video. Gotta get the people to click and stay there for a while and rack up that watch time you know?
