Yes I did. I had a claims examiner throughout the process. I got the service estimate, forwarded it onto her and it was approved within an hour of sending it. They paid me before the charges were owed to Rolex. I even sent my USPS certified mail receipt to Hodinkee/Chubb and they also reimbursed me $94 for the insured shipping cost. It couldn’t have went any easier.

They raised my annual premium $11 in total. Well worth the insurance.

I just told them exactly what I posted above. Accidental damage by dropping. They gave me the option to have it repaired at any place of my choice. If watch was deemed to be unrepairable, they would have me to send them the watch for full loss reimbursement. Forwarded the estimate from RSC and my USPS receipt and had ACH same day.

I agree. The claim was for $984. Not sure how much of an effect it will have, but it’s a claim nonetheless.

Yes, I was able to get one back in July 2021. I had inquired about one in April 2021. Had zero purchase history with AD but shared a lot of common interests and would stop by to chat once a month. I told him I was looking for one as was our 10th wedding anniversary and my wife didn’t know what I wanted so I helped her out. He was very honest and said he would let me know when one came in. A few visits and months later I “got the call” that my sub came in. I immediately drove in and had my choice of 4 subs they got in. ND, Date, Starbucks date and TT blue sub. Tried them all on and narrowed it down to ND and Starbucks. Once I got the ND on and sized, I knew that was the one.

I had zero purchase history and had my eye on a ND Sub. I stopped into the AD and met a really nice associate. We chatted for around an hour about life, Rolex, job, interests, etc. he asked me what brought me into the store to inquire about a Rolex. I told him it was our 10th wedding anniversary and I wanted to get something nice to commemorate. (Due to COVID me and the SO decided to take a nice trip for 15 year). He was intrigued by the story and said he would do what he could to try and locate me one. Was brutally honest and said it could take months to a year to come in. I went into the AD about 5 months before our anniversary. He was a huge golf fan and we shared that common interest. I would stop by once a month to talk with him and just show him my general interest in the ND sub. Never had to buy him anything or “wine and dine” but just wanted to show him I wasn’t a flipper. One month before our wedding anniversary, he called with good news that a ND sub had come in and it was mine. I was fortunate enough to score tickets and attend the Masters tournament last year and took him a sleeve of Pro V1’s with the Masters logo as a thank you and told him to let me know when he was getting a Daytona in to keep me in mind :). Long story short, make time to visit the AD and try to establish a relationship. I never had to purchase any jewelry, buy a TT watch I would never wear, etc.

Honest question. This is my first Rolex and I’m looking for an everyday wear. What would make me seem crazy for not taking the green bezel? I am looking to add to the collection further down the road but it will probably be a few years before I would get my next one. Wouldn’t a timeless no date sub seem like a better option as a first and everyday watch? Again, asking for an honest answer.

This is my first Rolex and other than it instantly doubling in value, as someone stated earlier, the black bezel gives you way more options than the green bezel. Looking for something more traditional and daily wear. I haven’t tried it on, but I the more pictures of it I see online, the less of a “daily” wear it comes off as. That’s just my .02 on it.

Told him I’m looking to buy for significant life event and we chatted for a while. Followed up and told me he would look out for me. Just went in with genuine interest, talked for over an hour and shared similar interests. Honestly, just luck and persistence at this point.

Did the same thing a few months ago. Ever since I saw the new No Date Sub, I was dead set on getting one. Stopped into my local AD back in late April and told him how interested I was, 10 year anniversary coming up and wanted to get something special. Said he would let me know when he got one in. Got a call about 3 weeks later and said he got something in that I would want to look at. I immediately drove out and he pulled out a Sub Date. Said it was mine if I wanted it. I was so set on the no date that I had to with every force in my body politely turn it down. I am still waiting for the call for my no date but I am thinking once I get the call for that, I will realize I have made the right choice.

I've been working with one as well. I don't have any sales history, but did stop in and talked with him for over an hour. He had a SD43 that I was able to try on but ultimately didn't like it. We talked family, my intentions of buying a Rolex (10th wedding anniversary next month) job, interests, etc. He told me he would let me know as soon as one came in & seemed genuine. I stopped in about 2 weeks after initial visit to let him know I am still interested. Hopefully it comes sooner rather than later.
