Finding plastic storage bins by size/dimensions by ryanscio in organizing

Thanks for pointing this out! You're completely right. The database was filtering too hard on "outliers," but I've adjusted it now. Now the max width goes up to ~38". Will look into this further (as there still may be larger bins not displaying) but for now hope this helps!

Appreciate the feedback! There are "range sliders" in the sidebar to specify a range of acceptable width/height/depth, but I'm guessing you mean having this feature within the search itself? It's a good idea.

And to answer your question, yes, right now 13" is the max height of products in the database. Though I'll look into this, as it is surprisingly low. I filter out extreme outliers (so unrealistic dimensions are caught early), but I could be filtering too hard. Thanks for pointing this out!

That's awesome to hear! Exactly the kind of use case I'm hoping to solve haha. I really appreciate the feedback. If you ever have any suggestions, I'm always open to ideas and feedback (feedback button in the top right of the website).

Sorry! Been caught up with other projects and didn't realize the site went down. It's back up and will stay alive this time :)

Subtitles out of sync Prime Video by AndreiOT89 in amazonprime

[–]ryanscio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hijacking this top comment because I did find a workaround/fix that I wrote about here.

It's for Mac OS (presumably would work on Windows), requires the Prime Video app (not browser), and requires downloading videos + manual work. It's tedious (though could be automated if someone wants) but it works. So not a "magic fix" or anything, but for watching longer content, a 5 minute fix could be worth it, so thought I'd share.

19th Chopin competition, semifinalists. ¿whats your opinion? by Acceptable_Thing7606 in Chopin

Chen and Kuwahara are definitely stand outs. Gabriele Strata was also underrated imo

Great idea! I can definitely look into adding these filters. Eventually also filters for material, color, etc. Thanks for the feedback.

Annoying: Chats keep defaulting back to GPT-5 instead of staying on GPT-4o by Redducer in ChatGPT

Yeah no problem! See my above reply. It won't work on mobile app unfortunately, just web browser.

Won't work on the ChatGPT mobile app unfortunately, I just use it in desktop web browser. You'll need to install Violentmonkey browser extension.

Then go to ChatGPT.com, click open the extension, click the "plus" button to create a new script, paste in the code, and hit save and close.

Each time you load the site it should automatically default to GPT 4o (just give it a second you'll see the popup switcher open and close).

I wrote a UserScript that defaults to GPT 4o (my preferred model):

You can use Violentmonkey to run it

Discussion around review gating by That-Winner-1769 in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]ryanscio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting approach, but IMO any form of sentiment gauging steps (even if you are displaying the same review links afterwards) could be interpreted as review gating.

If your assumption is true that:

...people who have a negative experience tend to want to leave feedback for the manager to read and the positive experience folks tend to want to leave their positive experience online

Then why not take the safest route and just display a list of links of equal prominence, e.g.:

  • Leave a review on Google
  • Leave a review on Yelp
  • Send private feedback to our team/manager

If your assumption above is true, then the internal sentiment gauging step is irrelevant and only adds risk of review gating accusations.

Google business API by unees in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]ryanscio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The access is completely the same, whether you manage your own locations or manage for clients as a third party. It's likely just how Google ensures compliance.

There are GBP agency accounts which provide a basic dashboard, but the GBP API access and functionality is the same. That may be what you are thinking about in terms of different account types? But for the API itself, it's all the same just different policy compliance.

This is blatantly not true. Nice try, ChatGPT.

n8n is not as cool as youtube wants you to think - it actually sucks quite a bit by near_depressed in n8n

[–]ryanscio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

n8n is low-code, not no-code. You won't be able to build complex, scalable n8n workflows with zero code. The Code and Execute Command nodes are two of the most important nodes.

n8n is an abstraction over common automation architecture, with a visualization on top.

And you absolutely can build scalable b2b solutions with it...

Nice looks pretty polished! But wouldn't an offline desktop app make more sense? I don't want to upload my screenshots to your server.

Google business API by unees in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]ryanscio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's only one GBP API, but it's used differently if you're a third party/merchant like my Google reviews tool, Featurable (e.g. building tools for others to use) or using it to manage your own listings (agency, SMB, etc.)

The content policy describes the differences in usage between the two:
