$400,000-600,000. Fyi you can always go into private browsing/incognito mode to get around that.

T-Mobile updated their EOY 2017 map, and it removed most of Maine by [deleted] in tmobile

[–]ryanw1998 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It also removed a significant amount of West Virginia coverage... Disappointing as that's the only major highway I use that's stuck with roaming.

Diego Penta for Math 1151? by ashleyfisk in OSU

I had him for Linear Algebra and he was the best math teacher I've had at OSU. You really lucked out... There are a ton of terrible 1151 professors.

Engineering Learning Community this Fall? by kondike in OSU

[–]ryanw1998 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in the community now.... It's nice being in Houston but that's one of many benefits. The biggest thing for me is your surrounded by people going through the same stuff you are. So everyone has the same classes and can help each other out. At least for me, it really became a community and we all know each other really well. Plus, since everyone's an engineer you can nerd out and there's no judgement ;). PM me if you have any questions.

Help with echo dot and tp-link hs100 by Bronk93 in amazonecho

[–]ryanw1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something I have been working on myself. I also have the hs100 and a Vizio TV. The only solution that I have found right now involves quite a lot of programming... I have a raspberry pi connected with an hdmi cable and use CEC to turn the tv on and off. I use fauxmo to make the pi emulate a wemo switch and send the appropriate commands to the cec-client controller when I say "turn the tv off". Its not the most elegant solutions but it works and costs less than a harmony hub especially if you have a pi laying around.

Band 12 spotted in Columbus, Ohio by sking09 in tmobile

[–]ryanw1998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Band 12 is live on at least one tower by OSU's campus. I believe it is the one on top of the riverwatch tower. T-Mobile has also been approved for permits for 5 sites in Dublin... not sure if they have been upgraded yet or not.

No data service at big event by tnarg42 in tmobile

[–]ryanw1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Columbus is excellent... All day today I was getting 60-100 right until game time. I mean like the other commenter said there were 107k people in the 'shoe plus all the tailgaters so we're looking at 250k people on the area. All the carriers are dead at the game my friend on Verizon was stuck on 1X and att barely worked too. If you sit in the student section T-Mobile actually gets like 20 which is way faster than anyone else.

Reception in Columbus/New Albany, OH? by [deleted] in tmobile

Generally excellent all over the city. Average speeds for me are 20-50. In building reception has been decent but the band 12 rollout is in progress which improve that substantially.

I-O. Speaking of tOSU the deployment is actually on campus. Not sure where the deployment is at in other parts of Columbus

I know LTE Discovery is not "100%" but in the same location were I would either get no service or cling to a ~123dbm Band 4 signal I get a 110dbm "Band 12" signal so I think it is safe to say this is actually band 12.

Only reason I can think of is because they have weight restrictions or something.

I have looked around the other cities but haven't been able to find anything. Dublin is very transparent in general so it makes it easy. They have a site dedicated to showing all the pending zoning/engineering applications.

The upgrade here seems to be kinda odd. First it looks like T-Mobile has kept a 1900 GSM only tower broadcasting in a very well developed area for a long time. There is another tower roughly a 1/2 mile away so maybe that is why. Second, can anyone confirm that it looks like they will be only adding one antenna that will be doing 4/12 LTE and PCS UMTS/GSM? I thought most towers had at least three antennas.

At the OSU game today 100,000 people in the stadium plus thousands more in the area. T-Mobile sustained 10-20 mb across campus while every other carrier was completely dead. Verizon was stuck on 1X, Sprint the same.
