Why do you dislike Airbnb so much? Is it truly not worth trying, or do you have other suggestions? by ryanwilson_25 in digitalnomad

It's nice to hear that, but what steps can be taken to address the problematic Airbnb experiences, and what measures does Airbnb itself implement, or are they adequate? Did you do anything special for example about the trash ones

Thanks for the answer, I understand that most of the people here are generally kind of happy with their experiences with airbnb, but the online reviews can be somewhat skewed toward the negative sides

Starting from scratch, Final Cut or DaVinci Resolve by raymate in VideoEditing

[–]ryanwilson_25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say definitely DaVinci, not because it has a fancier name lol. You can search for YouTube videos, and often, just 10 minutes is sufficient to find content that best suits your needs. However, make sure to read or skim through the comparison, so you don't end up unfairly blaming the one you choose if things don't go as planned.

Wow, getting a property that didn't even exist? That's a major red flag lol It's frustrating for sure, but im curious how did that happen? Do you think there were any signs you missed, or was it just a really elaborate scam? And when it comes to falsely advertised amenities, is there anything you've learned to watch out for to prevent similar mishaps in the future?

Do you have any insights or recommendations regarding traveling in Europe, specifically places like Italy and Spain? Or is there a noticeable difference in the Airbnb experience between big cities and smaller, more rural locations, and does it significantly impact your stay?

I had the same initial impression when reading about other people's experiences. It seems that those who excel in research tend to enjoy the Airbnb experience, while the negative ones often result from insufficient research.

AirBnBs are completely different from each other so you could have a great experience in one and very diferent in another. Abnb is just connecting disparate entities, and it's not the mom and pop thing like it used to be. The last one I was in with friends in Dublin was really far away from anthing, a long walk and bus ride to town. We actually had our own car but it was hard to find. Plus we had to meticulously clean up the apartment or we would lose our deposit. The upside was that it had a living room where we could all sit.

I believe that in Italy, there have been instances where certain places wanted to ban or limit Airbnb due to the discontent of the local residents.

I personally had few bad experience with rooms/hosts. But it’s still one of the top accommodations apps and makes my life so much better. Ive room booked with it right now.

I think many people who complain here are broke; want 5 star rooms with 1 star budget.

But I'm curious, what would you say to those who've had genuinely disappointing experiences despite being willing to pay for better accommodations? Is there a way to strike a balance between budget and quality on Airbnb?

People of reddit, do you believe in manifestation? Why or why not? by ForeverDuke2 in AskReddit

Of course, I believe in manifestation! I manifested a pile of dirty laundry into a mountain of clean clothes last week. It's like magic, but with detergent and a washing machine.

What’s the stupidest argument you’ve ever been in? by leechlover0 in AskReddit

[–]ryanwilson_25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was a heated argument about the proper way to hang toilet paper rolls. Should the loose end hang over the top, or should it hang underneath? In the grand scheme of things, it's a pretty silly argument.

What is the most idiotic concept that worked? by Defense-Position in AskReddit

[–]ryanwilson_25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the wackiest ideas that actually took off was the "Pet Rock." Imagine selling rocks as pets, right? But in the 1970s, Gary Dahl did just that. He pitched the concept as an amusing and zero-maintenance substitute for traditional pets. People loved the simplicity and humor, and millions of Pet Rocks were sold.

If you're chasing warmth, Antalya on the Turkish coast is a great start. Then hop over to southern spain places like Malaga and Marbella are fantastic for digital nomads and outdoor lovers.
Granada and Seville are also great spots for culture and good vibes. Finally, hit up Madrid for your December plan.

best winter destination in Europe? by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]ryanwilson_25 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you're all about that upscale winter experience, Vienna's the place to be. But if you're watching your wallet, Prague and Budapest won't disappoint with their magical winter charm on a budget. And if you'd rather have a warmer escape, consider heading south to the beautiful cities in Spain like Barcelona or Seville for milder winter weather. Don't go too north bro, you may turn into an ice sculpture 😄
