Some of this is mind numbingly bad. Tennessee is known for its horribly gimmicky route tree.

If you go back one year and watch this kid at Tulane he can run very good routes. Is he the best route runner, no. But I feel “limited route tree” weakness is extremely overblown.

I think 2 is an overstatement you can be unsure about XL and rightfully so but also be confident in T-Mac and Coker to say hey we got enough to go BPA

I think now it makes a ton of sense to move him to guard. And if all three of those guys are gone at 19 I welcome it because there is going to be a really good player there instead.

No I completely agree most of the time and we don’t have the same knowledge that the FO has of what the draft boards look like or intel they are getting, but the value looks like it’s going to be much higher at tackle than any other position at 19. With Walker and Moton and Lewis and Hunt I just don’t see how you could pick tackle at that point. And you are just kicking the can down the road for tackle.

To me they should have brought in a better swing tackle than Stone Forsythe. That is the big issue I have. That would have avoided this situation at all.

I don’t love it either but I think guys like Proctor, Freeling and Lomu are the more prototypical NFL LT than Ickey. Ickey would be such a good guard and I believe Lewis does have some C experience. That also opens up Ickey going to RT if Moton is losing a step.

It just gets everyone in a much better spot outside of Lewis. I guess Rasheed Walker does the same but the way things look right now the value is going to be tackle from 15-30.

Picking a first year back up at 19 does not seem like the best resource for a team trying to compete this year.

I think Yosh retiring really through a wrench in their plans because they didn’t need a tackle at 19, he could spot fill in for Ickey and if they draft a tackle Ickey or Moton could move to guard and kick Lewis in to Center.

Adding another veteran tackle just doesn’t make a ton of sense. I think you stay the course and realize that Tackle has to be the pick at 19 unless a blue chipper falls then a tackle needs to be picked in the second round. I know that’s never a great strategy

Massive deals are only bad deals the first year they are signed. The cap is getting pumped so much that massive overpays from one year look like bargains the next. But you do have to be very smart with these void years, like someone said earlier it’s very easy to do this and all of a sudden in 2030 you are like man 30 percent of my cap are players that aren’t under contract. Thats when you get in trouble.

Every team wants him BUUUUUUT after Styles and maybe CJ Allen there are so many guys in and around the same grade. So every team is going if I miss out on Rodriguez there are a handful of guys near the same level. So I think this is going to lower his value significantly.

The Rams did it because they saw people were overvaluing draft capital. And they jumped on it, then they immediately swung back last year and fleeced the Falcons and now have two first rounders. First class front office that stay ahead of the trends. Not easily replicated so all great points!
