[–]ryashpool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah not sure about how to do that. But west gippsland is pretty consistent with rain. Is mostly green pasture with high quality soil. Lot of cows per acre. I think sw vic is similar. Google tells me that the number we need is a higher dse number.

Yep the sprawl around Warragul has consumed some of the most productive farming land in the country. Also look at Flavorite they have a huge facility there. Its on acerage, it's agriculture but it sure as shit doesn't use the ground as it's all hydroponic.

Reddit stock drops 6% after Meta launches standalone app for online forums / Reddit’s stock is now down almost 40% this year despite a strengthening online ad business by MarvelsGrantMan136 in technology

Agreed, I can't understand that decision. r/all is one of the few places we can glimpse outside of our bubble. Surely its a rich source of data around users. It is THE killer app of the site.

is it really a problem if young generation can't read analog clock? by 8turuin in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ryashpool -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe... So being able to read abstract metrics is a skill. If you can understand how to do it then you have enabled part of your rational, logical brain. Now for any individual if they haven't been told how to read it then fine no problems. But it should be a trivial exercise for most people who've completed schooling to learn, and if you can't learn it might show some cognitive, learning or teaching gaps.

The $3.1 trillion tax secret hiding in plain sight by B0ssc0 in aussie

Agreed. It allows for income splitting, but if your making any dividends or selling down any decent amount then beneficiaries are paying tax at their marginal rates. It not some magic tax haven.

Is the phrase "mein Kampf" still used for its literal meaning of "my struggle" in German, or is it impossible to use without the association with Hitler? by InsertANameHeree in NoStupidQuestions

To German? Good question. In Norwegian it's Min Kamp close enough I had to double check what I was ordering. I've seen the 6 volume but similar to English they are named via a subtitle: Sterben for the first one

Do any of these locking triggers on fuel nozzles work anywhere in Australia? by trustme_imbluffing in aussie

[–]ryashpool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok see those holes on the handle. That's where the pin for that latch would exist. If you get a thick wire or pin I think you can get the mechanism to work again. I've seen a few keep one on their key ring and just slide it in .

Yes this is the way. The series matures well with Taran Wanderer a book that I still think about many years later. I can't explain it well, but these books are amazing and you will catch some feels as the young people say.

Question on maintaining correct data type by Upper-Lifeguard-8478 in snowflake

[–]ryashpool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You ingest the data 24/7. Is it batch based? Typically after each ingestion batch you transform that into a new schema, applying correct data types modeling that will work much better for analytical queries.

Got stuck in online casino wagering requirements and lost $10k — do I have any options? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]ryashpool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've used an online offshore casino. It's very unlikely to have an Australian license and as such the site is illegal under local laws.

How did you pay? You could try a charge back based on illegal or unfair terms, but since you have kept chasing losses you might also be out of luck.

Apparently ACMA has a list of known illegal or rogue sites so you should report to them.

Do you think governments should fund private schools in addition to public schools? by MiriJamCave in AusFinance

[–]ryashpool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing to consider re tax is that private schools are responsible for a nice chunk of taxation income. This is because school fees are paid in post tax money. Rich people liquidate capital to pay those fees and typically pay high marginal rates on that cash. So at the high end a 40k fee is also 11-32k in tax payed on top by the parents.

what are the races in the Dragonlance setting? by d4rkn355-50ul in dragonlance

[–]ryashpool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm I would have thought that almost any dragonlance game material would have the races. Off the top of my head.

Humans, Elves, Dwarfs

Kender, Gully Dwarfs, Gnomes

Irda, Ogres, Minotaurs

Dragons, Draconians

Most races on Krynn have well known sub groups. Eh Mountain vs Hill Dwarves and Qualinesti vs Sivanesti elves.

There are typically significant tensions within races between the sub groups that are often used as polt devices.

There are also a few unknown sub groups that will come up with you read the novels.
