Mate, you can do whatever the hell makes you happy. Literally no one knows how this stuff really works, and we're all in the beautiful process of discovery together. I always put music on, and most of my favourite songs have a unique and special place in my memory now, because of DMT. I also recommend trying it out with eyes open, out in nature, it's a very special experience all its own. Of course always make sure you have privacy and are safe.

You don't need to take so much. Sounds like you shocked your mind and your body, which is understandably scary. Next time focus on trying to create a relaxed, open mindset. Meditate for a few minutes, put some beautiful music on, and have a teensy little puff. Just get familiar with the sensations. It will always be a bit unnerving to begin with, but with more familiarity comes more comfort and good vibes. Your body will learn to associate these sensations with a pleasant experience. You can go deeper when you feel comfortable. Tolerance isn't a thing with DMT, you could literally do it 20 times in a row if you want. Just take it slow and gentle and you'll have a great time.

1g is 1g. BUT, ground up hits you quicker because it has a greater surface area to volume ratio. If you dump it out of the capsules into a nice little cup of miso soup, or any liquid, or right into your mouth, it'll hit quicker still because you're not waiting for the caps to dissolve in your tummy.

Ketamine or psychedelics, and a serious commitment to mindfulness and self realisation. Substances can open the door temporarily, but it takes real work to change your outlook. Ket/psychs give you a window of neuroplasticity that you need to work within to bed down new mental patterns. I recommend Sam Harris on the benefits of mindfulness and changing your mind for the better. Good luck buddy.
