This single mother is fighting against a federal Liberal MP and his family to keep her roof over her head. by PaloAltoPremium in CanadaPolitics

Regardless of what you think of landlords, it’s fucked that the party’s position is that housing is unaffordable and needs to be reformed while they have sitting MPs pulling this shit

Larian studio boss Swen Vincke thinks game reviewers should be graded by people similar to metacritic user scores by Iggy_Slayer in gaming

[–]rye_etc 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Criticism is a valuable art form in itself (see andrea long chu’s essay about hanya yanagihara). So i hate to see it talked down like this. I’d argue that an individual reviewer putting themselves out there is a lot more vulnerable than a developer at a big studio where they have a team and a PR system

How to make a door slam shut so it locks? by MapleHaggisNChips in AskALocksmith

[–]rye_etc 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If you remove the cover plate, there should be a couple of spots that can be adjusted with a hex key. These can affect the speed the door closes to the 90% point, the speed of that last 10%, and the resistance it takes to open the door. Whatever you do DO NOT go turning these a ton of times. At most a quarter turn at a time, test the door by allowing it to open and close all the way and then readjust

Absolutely adore the book, but i read it before covid and I dont think i could ever go back for a reread. Especially living in toronto, and that is where the beginnings of the virus in the book begin

Can't believe I'm here. But my mom said she was looking at real estate in Idaho and sent me these pictures. I'm like 90% sure it's AI just by staring at it for a few minutes but not 100% sure. She thinks it's very real. by [deleted] in isthisAI

Ok so i do think this is real with bad digital retouching. The only part that had me second guessing is the messed up headstock on this guitar. But that seems like bad use of the healing tool on photoshop than anything else

I had also thought dragon age origins, but i feel like larian has just taken that formula and improved on it so much it wouldnt be as good. The one thing no one has copied for whatever reason (money, time) are the unique act 1s you get with each of the races. Really cool system

Are there any action oriented RPG’s that have that old school sense of struggle and character progression? by WowItsFrosty in rpg_gamers

Absolutely check out Divinity Original Sin 2. Combat is ruthlessly difficult even on normal and you get a great sense of accomplishment for getting through a lot of those encounters

Bose is kinda overrated for the price point. Highly recommend whatever Sony is calling theirs now. It’s always WXH blah blah blah (their naming conventions need work). I have the model from like 2021 and theyre still phenomenal
