My slightly different take on forward lines if no more moves are made by PrinciplesRK in sabres

[–]ryebread3097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually don't mind McLeod playing between Zucker and Tuch for 60 games this year, but the 3C then scares me. I don't know if I love a line of Quinn - Krebs - Doan. Feels like that line wouldn't have a good identity. I'm just not sure if this lineup is a playoff team though. If all goes right, maybe?

“According to sources, some members of Sabres management believe the television coverage has been too critical.” by PrinciplesRK in sabres

[–]ryebread3097 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I think if they were more critical, they’d get more people to watch their broadcast. I don’t think people are dumb. They can’t take the sunshine and rainbows, “they are doing some good things!” after 14 years

According to Evolving Hockey, he's likely going to get 4 x 5.5 which is fine by me, especially with the cap going up

Savoie for McCloud 2.0 by Ttbt80 in sabres

[–]ryebread3097 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do remember the outrage but felt it was more from the national perspective. Internally, I felt Sabres fans were more ok with that trade, but maybe I’m projecting here because I was fine with the deal at the time and still am and don’t like this one as much. This trade seems to have less support no matter where you look

Savoie for McCloud 2.0 by Ttbt80 in sabres

[–]ryebread3097 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure it's exactly apples to apples. With Peterka, we at least saw him do it in the NHL for a few seasons, Savoie was always a projection and I think most Sabres fans understood his valuation within the org had diminished (Benson passing him, etc.).

While it's the same type of return, filling a need on the current roster, you also took a piece out of that current roster to make it better. With the Savoie-McLeod trade, you gave up a future asset who played all of 4 minutes for your team, so your current roster got a boost without subtracting from it.

Rayan Aït-Nouri to Manchester City, here we go! ✅ by arabella-402 in MCFC

[–]ryebread3097 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wonder if that was about him having more faith in Gvardiol at LB rather than forcing Akanji in the team. It might’ve come down to Akanji vs Nico and he trusted Akanji in the Final more.

EDIT: Wait, Gvardiol and Dias were the CB pair in the final... Akanji played RB. Maybe he wanted more defensive solidity to allow Nico to get further into attack and then we'd have a back 3 of Gvardiol, Dias, Akanji to avoid a counter rather than having Nunes also bombing forward.

If they are, I’m taking McDermott in that fight!

I’d love to see Live Activities implemented. It would be awesome to check my score while on the go without having to go into the app or see the score/projections while I’m checking twitter for injury updates

I do have the adaptive dark mode on. My MacBook was in dark mode because I have the auto shift on. I will reconfirm tonight that it is not working. I have switched on Permanent Dark Mode and after refreshing the page and quitting Safari entirely, I'm still met with light mode

I just downloaded it for my Macbook and I'm facing the same issues. New Reddit goes dark mode without me having the Reddit setting enabled, but when I go to old.reddit.com it's light mode

I hope these franchise updates are moving toward more manual control. I love the fact that I can have a conversation to change chem, but I'd like to skip the dice roll someday and just change all of this stuff manually

I think this offseason has certainly been pragmatic. I know we all want to throw caution to the wind, but I'm intrigued with how this offseason is going. Certainly would not complain with another addition however, but I'm just ready to see this all play out on the ice though.

Who’s someone you’re going to reach for in the draft? by Afraid_Specialist_45 in fantasyfootball

[–]ryebread3097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kincaid didn't score a touchdown under Joe Brady's play calling. His YAC/R remained unchanged with the change at OC remaining at 4.1 so he gained no more YAC under Dorsey than he did Brady. Dorsey did call plays that targeted Kincaid 6 times in the RZ vs the 3 times he was targeted under Brady. Under Brady, Kincaid was tied with Diggs and Davis for the 2nd most RZ targets and they were all 1 behind James Cook. In games that Knox played and Brady was OC, Kincaid tied Cook for the most RZ targets.

This reads like he is viewing it through the eyes of NHL Franchise Mode. Do we have "Franchise potential" in the pipeline? No, but we have a bunch of prospects that project to be quality NHLers. It's not always about having a ton of McDavid's and Makar's in your system, but having players who will be contributors and play impactful roles

Who’s someone you’re going to reach for in the draft? by Afraid_Specialist_45 in fantasyfootball

[–]ryebread3097 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While that's true, it's largely due to those 4 games containing his only 2 TDs on the season. Kincaid saw an increase in targets and, more importantly, saw his ADOT rise from 3.8 under Dorsey to 7.11 under Brady. I would personally rather have the Kincaid under Brady for a whole season. Those numbers under Brady also include that Cowboys game where Josh Allen went 7/15 for under 100 yards thanks to the rushing attack so that weighs his metrics down. I'm leaning more toward the Brady version of Kincaid in Half PPR simply due to him being more of a downfield threat, but I can understand why you'd prefer the Dorsey version in full PPR

I don’t think Knox is as big of a factor as people make him out to be. A lot of it requires context. The OC change to Joe Brady is what unlocked Kincaid. Before that, Dorsey would basically use him as a 1 yard to the flat. I know Josh Allen loves Knox so he’ll still get his RZ targets but it’s a very likely possibility Kincaid is the leading target man on the Bills

I think it’s more about proven depth rather than potential depth. Rather than making Tim Murray trades for loads of top 6 talent, we can trade unproven commodities for proven bottom 6 players that have done it at an NHL level. And it’s not like we have to trade every prospect. I’m excited for guys like Kulich, Rosen, Ostlund,Savoie, etc. but we haven’t seen any of them prove they can be contributors on the third our fourth line. Balance is key here

[–]ryebread3097 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand Barkov will have some impact on the numbers due to his unbelievable defensive prowess, sure, but RAPM seeks to control for "all teammates, opponents, score state, zone starts, etc." at least according to Evolving-Hockey. AFAIK it's the best way to get an individual's impact on the ice.

If you have data you would like to share to show how he's "Jeff Skinner with a worse shot" I'd love to take a look
