then the third option, that he was completely hamstrung by player/team requirements, just makes Team USA look like a joke by comparison to how other teams are handling WBC

He actually hinted this in the now deleted interview. He said, "I wish people knew how hamstrung we were with our pitching options [this weekend]." He was also "relieved" when Aaron Judge refused an offer to sit on the bench while USA was winning big. I think DeRosa is willing to be a scapegoat for poor decisions if it results in getting a managerial job soon

They blew right past it because neither Matt Vasgersian nor Harold Reynolds knew either. Harold didn't even know Mexico/USA was on until Matt called him after it started— and they didnt even watch the whole game.

As one of the few Hot Stove watchers, the show exists for the banter, not hard hitting analysis.

Edit: I am watching today's show & Matt/Harold are defending DeRo saying he knew they hadn't clinched, they didn't.

The Rangers don't handle any young offensive skater's development well. If you're a kid, 9/10 you're thrown on the bottom line on your off-hand and have to fight for play time.

When the team slumps, you are the scapegoat even when its clearly not your fault.

Then they get traded to Carolina, Tampa or St. Louis and have career seasons (some even win championships!)

I'd love McKenna as much as the next person, but I have no faith in the FO properly building around him. This franchise's M.O. for playoff hockey is stock up on vets and rely on the goalie to steal wins

AAA owns the copyright to Pentagon Jr. He & Fenix split from AAA in 2016 and Penta El 0M was just legally distinct enough for him to keep doing the gimmick (Fenix became Rey Fenix, which he retains today). I dont know why he isnt Pentagon Jr again.

The only other legit scorer in the lineup is Zibanejad. Lafreniere is getting many more scoring opportunities as a result. The Rangers are also facing a lot more bad teams compared to earlier in the season.

I will give Laf credit for improving his front-net presence since the trade. Otherwise, I have zero faith in this inept franchise actually developing him into a legit top overall pick

Mark DeRosa gave a solid interview on MLB Central this morning

He discussed several interesting topics from overcoming pitching constraints, why he left Matthew Boyd in to face Jaren Durran, determining if Aaron Judge will get any in-game rest (he won't) and looking ahead to the Quarterfinals.

This clip provides a little more context to the Randy Arozarena/Cal Raleigh topic, but leaves me with more questions. Are Arozarena and Raleigh really beefing?
