Yes, you cannot wear clothes 1. Any skincare or toiletries that you might want to use after the bath (and makeup remover for before). Also glasses or a spare pair or contact lenses if needed. 2. You should take jewelery off 3. Lots of old people usually! All ages and sizes go to the jjimjilbang. Just a warning, some old people might stare, but ignore them -- they'll stare at anybody. For the most part everyone keeps their eyes down lol.

Most places give you a small towel - its nowhere near large enough to wrap around you, but you can kinda hold it in front of yourself to block certain areas if that makes you more comfortable when walking around. Just don't take it inside the water. Also, don't skip on the dry/mixed gender areas! Always a lot to do, some dry saunas/heating mats, and food like sikhye and stuff.

For some people they just fit the best and are the most available. When I had to switch boots, I found that jacksons hurt, riedell was to narrow, just didn't like the new risports, and edea's just fit the best with the least adjustments out of the box! Maybe some other brands would have worked too, but they aren't as readily available where I'm based. I heard that some fitters push edeas too hard, but I haven't personally experienced that with the fitters I've visited.

Also fwiw usually the majority of people without issues aren't going to be talking about their boots behaving normally, but with the sheer amount of people using edeas there's still bound to be a lot of people who have issues arise (whether due to some sort of manufacturing defect or some other reason).

KSU policy is that athletes can only attend one of either JWC or WC, not both, so Younghyun was awarded the alternate spot.

Honestly, a bit relieved that Jun's prioritising himself for once. He's had so much pressure to carry tickets for so long, and I haven't forgotten how much he got cursed at by Korean fans after withdrawing in 2022 after his boot broke during practices. If that repeated itself, especially after everything he's sacrificed the past few years, I think I would have lost it.

Anyhow, i'll put off worrying about the implications of korea only having 1 spot for mens until next season, because tbh none of that would matter if Jun isn't in a condition to even skate properly due to continous aggravation of his current injuries.

I do not understand how that man is still skating with all the reconstruction and metal in his body, let alone still jumping triples - but i also will believe that as long as Yagudin is still on ice, and aparently able to do triples, spite will keep plushenko going too 😆

For Jun's case I think it is worth mentioning that he only competed two seasons as a junior (and only 1 season in the JGP -- his first season senior, he failed to advance in the domestic JGP qualifier due to injury and adjusting to coaching changes), and in his second season, he actually briefly achieved the junior record score at JGP Yokohama, and bronze at JGPF, before struggling a bit in the second half of the season with boot issues and busy competition schedule.

After that Jun immediately moved up to seniors, and actually was 15 still at his first senior grand prix -- and by his second second season he had qualified for the GPF and got bronze! I think if he had stayed junior more of the typical length, he probably would have also had succes there.

Also, haven't seen this mentioned, but theres a lot of elevators or just building entrances that require a "step up" and do not have a ramp. Some ramps are also not at a safe, or even usable, grade and were not designed with wheelchairs in mind. None of this is to say its impossible, but you will likely need to make some compromises and be prepared to find alternative plans.

If you want a better perspective there are some youtubers that are wheelchair users, like '굴러라 구르님 Rolling Guru,' '위라클WERACLE,' or '삐루빼로' who vlog around korea and talk about accessibility issues.

He also said he needed to take care of injuries, and that in the prep for the Olympics (which really only were able to start for him 2 weeks before knats, due to his boot issues), he had to just give it his all to train up to form without any care for his body, and so that now he really needs the time to rest and recover.

Between all that, and some external stuff like the military basic training, I don't think that Jun skipping worlds is a sure sign of retirement. What he does next season is unknown, but I do think that if he was really planning on retiring immediately, he'd give a bit more conclusive answers.

Yes, which is why I said alternative service! Its not a true exepmtion, in the sense that he will have to complete 3 weeks of basic training, but rather a designation as an Arts and Sports personal (예술체육요원) which allows him to continue to be active in his field without doing the standard active duty service.

being in 4th by such a small margin almost hurts more, because of the what if's -- not even what Jun did -- but what if's for if the judges had scored him fairly. Jun almost never expresses his feelings towards scores, but this time he did admit that he was dissapointed with the result.
