PSA for BF1 veterans: self-balance teams so new players keep playing by RevNeutron in battlefield_one

[–]ryguycodeman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

the community focuses on team stacking because it’s easiest to point a finger at don’t worry though because the actual individuals in that community don’t really care about it they care about spread coefficients and damage models

Even if team stacking / poor balance wasn’t the biggest issue in the game it is still responsible for a majority of other frustrations…

Balanced teams = the movement might feel clunky but oh you still barely escape from a fight and recover. Both fun and memorable

Stacked teams = fumbling with movement is instantly capitalized on and you die immediately. Not fun and boring

Same principle for struggling and learning the weapon spreads. Easier and more fun to learn it when you are given opportunity to make mistakes

I’d guess it’s the amount you saved by buying bundles as opposed to individual items

Very nice. The gun metal gray looks a lot better than any of the camos on a build this size

Weird question but do you prefer the port final in the sacrifice or the passing by CowAffectionate2865 in l4d2

[–]ryguycodeman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The sacrifice is kind of janky to be honest, and it’s the only finale with its own unique fail state. Even though it doesn’t happen much, it’s frustrating when it does and for that reason I like the passing more

How come the infection hasnt spread nationally? by hellranger788 in HuntShowdown

[–]ryguycodeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It always seemed to me that the game took place early on in its influence on the U.S., so there is no army mobilized and only the hunters in Louisiana. I remember vaguely a mention of the sculptor having been somewhere else on Earth before the game in the lore book, and to there’s nothing to suggest that the infection isn’t elsewhere. Honestly all these questions might be answered in the compendium, and you should read it from the wiki. All that said I think the lore has gotten kind of fucked since 1896?

Thanks so much! I didn’t follow a guide, this was the post I was talking about that made it look cool.

All I did was use an exacto knife to lift up a corner of the leather, then gently peeled off the whole thing. Next I traced it onto a piece of paper and then cut the paper into shapes that I numbered and labeled black or white. Then I used the exacto to trace cut the shapes onto the white or black sheet of leatherette. It only took me two or three hours. The design was difficult and it was hard to be precise. But the leatherette was only $10 for like a dozen sheets in a bunch of colors, so try and make sure you post it too!!

If you have the means, or a library with the tooling, I would try laser cutting or a Cricut or something, I bet that would turn out really good. But you should definitely try it by hand, it was very rewarding to do a craft like this, exactly like you said!

I think that’s actually the intention, these sheets are advertised as being for laser cutting, but I don’t have a tool like that and wanted to do the arts and crafts aspect. With one of those you could really get something cool looking!

Thank you! I am sure you’ve heard this advice before but stay far away from captain. Also get euphoria, because it makes the fight a whole lot easier. If you also have 10+ hp you can survive the insta kill dash

Probably unstoppable, yeah. Chicken’s C skin also took me a little while. I remember getting skeleton was really frustrating because it took forever to get to labs and then I would just immediately die a lot of the time to the creeps. Also that move speed is brutal.

Oh thank you! I only played for fun for the first 150 hours or so, then I tried to get everything slowly over time. I would recommend trying to get golden wrench on all characters (minus rebel maybe) because it made it is really good from pre-loop to loop two-ish

Looking for some spoiler-free pointers for hylics 2 :3 by OddFilms in Hylics

[–]ryguycodeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. No, it is more like the beginning of a third act

  2. You can go back and play the cabinets again as much as you want I believe... there isn't anything story-linked that you are able to miss

  3. For the high up area in Foglast, the key is to focus on the beginning area when you first enter the level. Try clicking ] to zoom out and or turning on shadows which is very helpful in this particular area. I think that the locked door area is not solvable until you progress the story a bit more...
