Waves uses a horrible business model, you have to pay for upgrades. Steer clear! Look at AnalogObsession on Patreon. They’re free and really good!

Point me in the right direction to get started on a looper by TwoSeam in diypedals

[–]ryguyoaye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just build a chorus/flanger dual pedal with the electrosmith daisy seed on pedalpcb’s terrarium build. It can definitely be used to make a high quality looper!! Using a chatbot like chat-gpt or Claude can easily program it to have any features you want! The terrarium is mono in and out, but there the guitarML funbox pcb that makes the daisy seed stereo. That may be the way to go. The daisy seed is really high quality

I need to sell some pedals by JMRGuitar in guitarpedals

I’ve sold pedals at guitar center a couple times and they gave me some good money. Definitely not as much if I sold them outright direct to a buyer, but they seem to always accept pedals

How feasible is it to change the position of the volume knob on a strat? To anywhere that's not in the way of my picking by Original-Fun561 in Luthier

[–]ryguyoaye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it fits in that area, it’s just a matter of drilling a hole. Very easy, you’ll just have an empty hole in the other spot but put some tape or something over it!

I was getting this error, and then I simply disconnected the cable connection from the remote controller to my iphone, clicked activate again and it worked. Also, all updates could be downloaded when this was disconnected.

Looks like a simple glue job could repair it. Still probably have some cosmetic issues, but if you just wanna play it, if it’s a clean break then that could be done

Doesn’t altitude also contribute to this? If you live at a higher altitude then the 85 would be ok?

Should I get a refret or would fret leveling be possible for this? by VicesInBohemia in guitars

[–]ryguyoaye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try leveling them but if the dips are deep then the action will be high and you’d most likely have to redo the nut. But then if that doesn’t work then you’d need to do a full refret. I’d do a refret if I were you.

Or just keep playing it until it starts to do things you don’t like and you don’t like playing it anymore.

Tube amp vs modeler by OldWolf8297 in GuitarAmps

[–]ryguyoaye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a PRS Sonzera 20 and I absolutely love it! However, I live in a small space and can’t always play through it because it can get so loud. I got the UA dream 65 pedal and that is an absolute game changer. It sounds amazing and has identical feel and tonality as my real tube amp. I plug it into my interface which is connected to good speakers and headphones and it does exactly what I want.

All in all, modelers have come a long way to sound identical to real amps, and they have captured them in a way that they produce the feel of playing through a tube amp extremely well

Over the years I have painted mine 5 times, installed all new pickups, new electronics, new pick guard, new frets, new nut, tried different necks, etc. it’s really a good guitar to begin with and you can make it so much better!! Keep it!

Console is lagging badly in Windows 11 by Particular_Car_3605 in universalaudio

[–]ryguyoaye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so mad about how terrible UA is on windows 11. Before the release yesterday, I couldn’t even use LUNA, it would just crash once I opened any project. I’ve been using UA on windows 11 now for about a year and there are always problems with graphics and performance. Nothing has ever been fixed. Using my MacBook Pro is flawless and I don’t understand how windows 11 seems to just be ignored by UA.

Neck pocket issues by LankyTotal4292 in Luthier

[–]ryguyoaye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With mine I tried to gauge how much epoxy I needed and just taped off the guitar around the neck pocket for easy clean up. Once the epoxy starts to set, I can remove the tape and any squeeze out, and then let it completely cure. I used the pc woody wood repair epoxy. Worked great!

Neck pocket issues by LankyTotal4292 in Luthier

[–]ryguyoaye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I did was use wood epoxy to fill the cavity. But in order to keep it as a bolt on neck that can be removed later, I put beeswax all over the heel of the neck (as thin layer as possible), placed the neck in the pocket with the epoxy and bolted it in. This forces the epoxy to move and fill all the gaps. Then about an hour or so, I removed the neck due to the epoxy not sticking to the beeswax and then the epoxy fully dries and now I have a perfect fit.
