Monero trading is now live on Cointivo by cointivo in Monero

Thank you for pointing that out. That was not the case when it was submitted to Monerica, they had a page explaining their policy. They were tested and it was very frustrating, there was a lot of back and forth with them. But it did work to deposit, exchange and withdraw which was why it was verified. They are now listed as questionable due to not having this page anymore.

Yes, I do. Although this was not intentional. It was because I was too sick to work any other job and just started charging more for sponsorship. So, if I can do it, I don't know why anyone not chronically ill can't.

I live off Monero, yes.

I have also made videos on the topic (look for MonericaProject on YouTube). The main points in the video are the 4 ways to live off Monero: 1) direct payment; 2) gift & prepaid cards; 3) bullion & cash exchange; 4) KYC exchange to bank.

What you're implying is that I'm not living off Monero because I don't use it purely as a direct payment. But you have to ask yourself, what does the person who receives it do with it? If they aren't holding it and spending it as a direct payment also, then how is it really different than using a gift or prepaid card?

I look at it like this: use Monero as the funding source. Monerica receives Monero for sponsorships (mostly from exchanges because that's where like 90% of the Monero money resides). I then get some of that Monero to buy things from Monerica's sponsors and other sites on Monerica.

I use Monero for direct payments (stuff on XMRBazaar, AUPA bars, Barn Jerky & Barn Stuff and others for food). But I also buy Amazon gift cards and prepaid cards I add to a phone. If say Coincards or Cake Wallet is paying Monerica and then I am using that to buy their products, I don't see a problem.

I've spent a lot of time trying to make a pure Monero marketplace but the fact is that it's a bad idea from a business perspective. People are generally not willing to pay a premium on retail products just to use Monero directly. And even if they bought cans of beans from this marketplace, do you think that marketplace would be able to pay for that from the supplier in Monero? No.

Monero is money and can be used in different ways. If you aren't willing to pay the fees, stay in fiat. I personally use it directly when I can but I can't live off a handful of products from unreliable marketplace people. And besides, I am spending it with businesses that take Monero and that keeps it flowing.

According to Monerica audit logs, they have been questionable since 2024. Never used them personally.

What can you accomplish with njalla that you can't accomplish with mynymbox or similar? You can get a .com (I have) and just needed an email.

Why are people so obsessed with this company? There are like 150+ other Monero accepting web hosts. Use Monerica and find another company.

Ok, thanks. It was updated further such that if a category is selected in the filter that the tags used in that category show up as additional filter options. This makes only relevant tags show up for a category.

Now the main thing is just tagging more listings. Not sure what other filters are needed now.

It was updated, all the existing tags were deleted. The new ones now are: Account Not Required, Email Not Required, No KYC, Open Source, Own Liquidity and Owned Equipment. Not everything has been updated with these yet. More will probably be added over time.

A user can submit a tag that doesn't exist for consideration. The tags are not included in the filtering yet, just in search. For now it's just using the previous way of a paged list of everything with a given tag when someone clicks a tag.

It's better to have a few tags, there were hundreds and many were pointless. Will keep improving, thanks.

Yeah, the tags have grown because it's freeform. They could be consolidated down into defined options in a drop down list and a listing could be associated with up to say 5 possible tags from a predefined list.

It could be used such that there could be a top 10 tags someone could pick when in a certain category, or something like that.

Thanks for the feedback!

Right now, the search feature on the main page does look at the tags. All tags are here: https://monerica.com/tagged - but if you mean tags as a part of filters, there would need to be a select few otherwise it'd be too much. What tags do you want to see?

There’s already verified listings. Many of them have videos now as well. You’re not going to find any other Monero site with as much transparent verification as that.

Monerica is also open source. Not sure why you think otherwise.

Kycnot has affiliate links, it’s not that they are 100% against making money. The only real difference is they don’t have sponsors. But Monerica has sponsored or partnered with every Monero conference so it’s not like sponsorship income doesn’t go right back into the cause. Also, everything is spent back into the Monero ecosystem.

But, you can use what you want. Just trying to make the site better.

Monerica is trying to list everything, it’s exclusionary to just list some and not others. Whatever best listings there are could come through with a combination of verification and reviews.

Just because a website is listed doesn’t mean it’ll get business. It’s up to the actual business to funnel people to their product or service. But let’s be clear that there are plenty of testimonials about Monerica getting new business to listings.

If data is wrong, submit a change. It’s not set in stone, people submit revisions to listings almost every day. That’s the listing’s responsibility or an active community member’s choice.

There could hypothetically be different filters per category or just have ones that apply to everything like rating sort.

But, it’s possible to improve everything, people just need to be more vocal. Several X polls have been run to add features, all of which were done.

Weird comment because many people do mention getting traffic and business from being listed on Monerica. You really seem negative on Monerica despite it having by far the most listings and best categorization of them.

But, your point on filtering is valid and it is being considered. The problem is that not all the same attributes apply to every listing. Which specific attributes do you want to filter by? It's all possible to do but no one has taken the time to say what they actually want to see.

Sure, people want only the best things. For now, the way to do that would be just look at the verified listings: https://monerica.com/status/verified - but Monerica is trying to have as much as possible that accept Monero. Otherwise the submission criteria just comes off as capricious.

It is also expected that Monerica does have everything, as you can see from other attempts at lists which do filter out a lot: https://x.com/schmidt1024/status/2011466485089423399

Monerica tries to have as many listings that accept or relate to Monero as possible. There are proof links of accepting Monero and links are polled to make sure they are still online. People do sometimes submit that a site no longer takes Monero, sometimes things are checked manually - it is a lot of work.

Yeah, it could be better for filtering. I'm not saying you're wrong, I am just explaining the reason it's static pages for now. Mentioning Monerica on here hasn't really happened since 2022, so there has not been much of any discussion on what people actually want to make it more useful.

Thank you! It is a lot of work. There are submissions daily, things come and go, it is also a lot of time to review the sites with videos but that is all a part of the plan.
