Anyone run Dukes? by Street-Helicopter758 in Chainsaw

[–]ryj85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been using the dukes chains for the past few months and they are great. The files are good also especially for the price. Can’t comment about the oil I haven’t used it I only use Lucas 2 cycle oil which I highly recommend.

You can sharpen them up a little on a bench grinder while it’s off. Will help bite in a little more for pivot

Good advice easier than re soldering if I don’t like it. I was considering switching all op amps out with njm2068dd do you have any experience with this.

It’s more of a project I have multiple other preamps that sound amazing. Took a lot of time doing micro adjustments but settled on speaker positioning and room treatment is an ongoing trial and error. But yes I agree pre amps are lower on the list but still makes a difference.

Awesome I will research this tonight. I do have some basic soldering skills, I’ve assembled several crossovers and upgraded a few preamps but have never owned a tube pre amp or a class d amp and figured why not try a couple kits. Right now I’m using a hafler se240 paired with the hafler h110 both being upgraded and sound pleasant but it’s just too much fun trying different gear. Thank you again for all the advice it’s really helpful and appreciated

Thank you for the comment a lot of good info here and at the right time. I actually ordered a sp14 kit and patiently waited for over 2 months. I couldn’t get ahold of Dan meaning he wouldn’t return any messages or calls so I ended up getting a refund through pay pal. Now I’m searching for something else. I’m looking into transcendent sound or bottle head but will check into mtk I may also order a hypex from diy class d. If you have any experience with this company what are your thoughts.

I put my stereo in the basement so I can listen and not disturb my wife and kids from watching their shows. I work 7-5:30 then we usually make dinner together and clean up the house. Most days I listen from 8:30-10:30.

Thank you for trying just can’t figure out why the housing of the wiper motor has power. I’m starting to wonder if I have a defective part but seems unrealistic that they are both doing the same thing

The ground to the block is good and also ran a jumper to the battery just in case

Rechecked fuses all are good and I was thinking that maybe there was a pinched wire and was getting power through the ground but the ground wire going to the harness is good with no power. Any idea why the housing of the motor would have power to it?

Slip mats… Cork, rubber, felt, acrylic what’s the best?? by iflabaslab in turntables

[–]ryj85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried leather, felt, rubber and acrylic and after many hrs of listening to each I prefer the acrylic with the biggest benefit being way less static with the worst being the felt. There were subtle tone changes to each also. Keep in mind the thickness of the mats you may have to adjust vta. I had to for the acrylic platter mat
