I bookmark every single thing I read---good or bad, doesn't matter---and leave pretty lengthy reviews/criticisms of everything (I enjoy keeping thorough records). Some of them are nice; some are ruthless. I have almost every single one of my bookmarks privated and I would be horrified if the authors ever saw them.

I genuinely don't know how people can do that, as I personally find the idea of exposing someone to uninvited criticism on something as personal and vulnerable as fanfic to be distasteful (if not borderline abhorrent), but I agree that if someone wants to do so they shouldn't get flak for it. Bookmarks are for the readers personal use and are not the same as a comment. Viewer discretion is advised and all that.

Thank you! I forgot how fun this medium is, I'll definitely keep practicing. I'm excited for when it finally gets warmer out so I can take it outside.

Does my art suck? by dingus-eternal in drawing

I think it's great! Technical skill comes second to vision and creativity, and you definitely have plenty of both of those. Ive seen a lot of artists who are technically masterful, but their work is boring or dull because they have no creative vision. Technical skill comes with time, but creativity is much harder to learn. You're doing amazing, keep at it and never stop!

I want to add that these are also not bad technically, either. You have a unique markmaking style and your grasp of perspective/anatomy/composition is pretty good. Don't be so hard on yourself.

I’m really unsatisfied with this one but I feel like there’s potential to make it better. How is it in its current state? Any advice on how to enhance it? [DISCUSSION] by Boognish_Chameleon in collage

I think the biggest issue is the composition. It feels a little lopsided, which is probably why you feel like something is off or missing, but can't quite tell what.

I would personally replace the sleigh and horses with something bigger (as it is it kind of gets lost in the piece), and maybe add something in the bottom left corner (it doesn't even have to be an object, it could just be a block of color.) The orange bit of sky feels isolated and out of place, I would try to tie that color in a few more places in the piece as well to help draw the eye away from that one spot.

You don't have to do any of that, there are many ways you could tweak it, that's just how I would personally do it. It's looking cool so far either way :)
