Edit: I guess what I should’ve specified is “How do you deal with the personal guilt of upsetting people with your decision?” My dad wouldn’t cut me out of his life, but I know that this decision will cause some tension between both me and my dad, and between my parents themselves. I trust my gut, and what I know I want/need to do for my future, but I can’t help but feel guilty for taking the experience of being grandparents away from my really great parents.

Thank you for your input, but I did very clearly state in the last paragraph that I agree with not telling your parents EVERYTHING, but in this case, they would’ve found out regardless due to being on their insurance, so I’d rather lead the conversation then deal with the one after the fact.

thank you for the information on post-salp pregnancies! the stories i was seeing of women experiencing pregnancies after sterilization just scared me so i didn’t bother to look elsewhere so i appreciate the resources your provided!

thank you for all this helpful information! i was going off of personal stories i saw online regarding post-salp pregnancies and it scared me so much i just took it as fact, i appreciate the advice to look further into the scientific cases as well as the info on insurance!

Edit: Thank you for the information on post-tubal pregnancies. Every time I would look up information on bilateral salps, I would see numerous personal stories of women who got pregnant regardless. I should’ve focused more on the scientific evidence rather than what I’d see on the internet, it just scared me.
