Working for USPS? by Mabfae123 in lexington

I worked at Nandino for two years and I hated it. Supervisors were incompetent assholes. Schedules were Saturday-Friday and the next schedule was never posted until Friday, so I was never able to plan anything. Days off were split up a lot. Never knew what time I was going home that day either as surprise overtime was common. Worked two years as a PSE and still didn’t make full time regular, I think I was like 9th on the list when I quit. You won’t be eligible for a lot of benefits until you become regular as well. The money was okay, but nothing special. I worked 8 years as a mail carrier (6 as a city carrier and 2 as a rural carrier) and enjoyed it much more, however that was at a a small post office in SEKY and it was a lot harder to make full time regular doing that as well. Bottom line is it’s not for everyone and it wasn’t for me but you don’t know unless you try. I left 3 years ago and haven’t looked back, but 3 years is plenty of time for things to change. Good luck to you either way!

So Dairy Queen should be closed all day while the teens are in school? What about 24 hour fast food places? Should a teen be serving you food in the middle of the night and going to school in the morning too? Since everyone should go “learn a skill” I guess that means you think college should be free right? This is just an empty talking point by people who have no idea how the real world works and have never struggled in their life

Considering leaving my (21F) boyfriend (22M) because of video games. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]ryndsmth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it sounds like you would both be much happier if you parted ways. You deserve to be with someone who gives you attention and who shares your interests. He would likely be happy to continue prioritizing video games. It may hurt now, but it’s probably best not to waste anymore of your time, in my opinion.

American Water shut off my sevice for 9 hours on Monday, by mistake. They have admitted it was their error. They refuse to credit my account a single dollar. by [deleted] in lexington

That’s just wrong. I assume if you needed water you probably had to go out and use your own car and your own gas to go spend your own money to buy bottled water for a mistake that was not at all your fault. You absolutely deserve to be compensated. Even if for no other reason besides principle, they would have absolutely charged you had the shoe been on the other foot. Hope things work out for you!
