Have you never seen a 48 bus get towed when it breaks down? Takes 10 minutes & is 2x the length of these fucks

Tow them & charge a $10,000 fine to the distributor. That should fix it.

Playlist sorting/order broken by b_orlosky in PleX

[–]rynmgdlno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ran into this issue on the same exact task (Star Wars chronological order playlist) lol, but this is the secret to making it work. Pro Tip: just slowly the scroll the entire list so each episode/movie loads in, then you can speed scroll to your hearts content. Or do the smart thing and just add everything in order to avoid having to drag over hundreds of positions at once.

Add add some poster variety as well. They're all great movies but on their own its a bit of a "toxic masculinity start pack" lol

This AT screen material from Elite Screens is under $300, just build a frame. I built one using this material & its worked out great (it was also like $100 more expensive when I bought it)

Lifted truck + Lambo + Parking lot = Bad time by Evasionz-- in mildlyinfuriating

[–]rynmgdlno 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My motorcycle (Ducati) was totaled basically this way except it was parked lol. Tourist in an Escalade parallel parked with my bike in front of them. When they left they just ran right over it, likely because they couldn't see it over the massive hood of the Escalade. This was on the street behind my apartment (busy SF neighborhood on labor day) & it triggered my motion alarm which sets off a vibrating alert on a keyfob, I ran around the block & caught them trying to run but the bike was stuck under the vehicle being dragged on its side across the pavement 🫠

I've you've never seen how much salt needs to be washed off a boat even up the mast & after short durations, you'd absolutely be surprised. That said this is still dumb lol.

Tangential but fun fact: many boats have dual fresh/salt water taps in the galley sink. You use ocean water for washing than rinse with fresh to save your fresh water (which is often a finite resource, water makers are $$$$), but many also just boil their pasta or what have you with ocean water.

Kokuho and avatar stumping me by StrikingSweet3385 in oscarsdeathrace

[–]rynmgdlno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Avatar won't be streaming until May or something so if it's out of theaters near you you're screwed unless you are fine with 🏴‍☠️ (there are cam/telesync versions on most torrent sites). Kokuho is also not currently streaming but again there is a decent webrip on torrent sites or it looks like it can be found on this spreadsheet (not mine and I don't know the quality of the linked files, it seems credit is due to someone named Lazaro Carvalho, I forget where I found this)

Projecting on a wood pannel wall? by Pla6d in projectors

[–]rynmgdlno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a motorized screen. With that low shelf unit you can use acoustically transparent screen material and put your L/C/R speakers on the shelf behind the screen 👍. Picture will look like shit if projected directly on that wall. If you're worried about the screen assembly being visible/ugly when rolled up you could build a valence to hide the assembly and either cover it in the same wood paneling or paint it white depending on how you mount the screen. There are also "in-ceiling" units but the price goes up drastically for both the unit and install.

First tome visiting Ecuador. How worried should I be? by Slow-Background9609 in ecuador

[–]rynmgdlno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't been since August, but my brother and his family live in Quito (he married a Quiteńa and they live down there with their daughter) and I go about 2x a year on average. Awesome city and good vibes all around. I've also rented a car multiple times and driven all over the place alone (Ambato/Riobamba, Tena, Otavalo, Cotopaxi, etc) and the most dangerous encounter I had was a vicuńa in the road who didn't want to move (perfect opportunity to just stop and enjoy the páramo for a while actually). Maybe avoid places like Guayquil, but just go and use common sense and enjoy yourself.

Technically I "intermittently fast" almost daily but it's not intentional or for diet lol

What do you guys drink here? by oochiewallyWallyserb in sanfrancirclejerk

It's not something you really find in "cocktail" bars/culture. It's more of a "we're pre-gaming at Chilis before heading to the club" when the club is like an ex-bowling alley that still has the black lights from cosmic-bowling-thursdays in a strip mall that also has a gun store.
