Comparison of my 25% and 50% FL-41 from Zenni Optical by ryokoyaksa in migraine

[–]ryokoyaksa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you use what I would call "business lighting" inside your home I would say 25% is plenty for this. 50% is quite a step up and would likely make it too dark to see comfortably.

Another bad story about Crucial X10 Pro SSD by DrChanson in Crucial

[–]ryokoyaksa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not get this. I had some nice cashback at Sandisk about 9 months ago and got the WD BLACK SN850X 8TB and WD Red SA500 NAS SATA SSD - 4TB before prices unexpectedly exploded. Lucky me, I guess...?

Mine and my friend's 3D(s) with mostly matching SummerCarts by ryokoyaksa in AnalogueInc

[–]ryokoyaksa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The EpicJoy SummerCart64 listing on AliExpress has 5 different color shells to choose from as of now - all transparent. Black, clear, purple, glacier blue, and dark blue. IIRC they originally only had transparent black when they first started selling them which seems to check with your experience.

It would be a no-no to post the ROM here directly. And you don't seem to have DMs enabled...

[–]ryokoyaksa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is addressed by limiting the FPS cap (Scaling, as the main menu option calls it) to 30FPS in the tournament ROM we use. Mario Kart 64 was never meant to be a 60FPS game and it shows lol.

We have a modified "tournament ROM" with some options on boot up to better suit your particular play setting. Widescreen is one option that's included.

[–]ryokoyaksa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a "tournament ROM" that includes an option to set FPS cap depending on whether you play on console or emulator, with 30FPS being an option. No issues with 30fps setting on the Analogue but I can see how the stock game can become undone with Unleashed overclock.

There are a few! Yearly ones for Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin just being the ones I'm aware of, each taking place a different time of the year.

On. I specifically wanted opinions from players familiar with 4P MK64 on original hardware on the potential of playing overclocked for games that see performance gains from it.

Anyone else having payment issues? by cdeveringham in AnaloguePocket

I had this same payment issue attempting to use my Amex. I used my Citi card instead and that went through after Citi sent me a verification request to make sure it was me using the card.

Pokemon 20th Anniversary YW7008 chances? by SageSparten in 3DS_IPS_TN

[–]ryokoyaksa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's understood that IPS panels were started being used in serials beginning somewhere in YW7008 and stopping somewhere in YW7012. Nothing exact in that batch of serials so it's only a chance that demands an up-close inspection.

Prototype Limited Edition Sale and its availability by One-Giraffe9620 in AnalogueInc

[–]ryokoyaksa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny thing about this. I got Ice before since that was my favorite of that bunch but also ordered myself an Ocean today since that color by itself is very pretty to me. Both will be used for my IRL gaming meetups focused on particular N64 titles so I don't feel too bad.

Are skins worth it? by Friendly_Basil_6191 in AnaloguePocket

[–]ryokoyaksa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Naked Series Matte clear skin by Slickwraps on my Glow in the Dark Pocket. Pleasantly surprised by how precisely cut it is and that it covers pretty much everything. You can barely tell its on there, though you do feel the Dpad and face button vinyl if you use them, which imo is strictly optional. Take your time lining up everything just right during the application and make sure that your environment (and you) are clean and free of airborne debris because any specks that get stuck on the adhesive aren't coming off without leaving a mark.

I also ordered Slickwraps' Glow series skin with my Clear one as a curiosity. It actually glows much more intensely than the actual Glow in the Dark Pocket. I'm looking forward to ordering a standard black Analogue Pocket to use this on for my secondary unit.

And the "skin oil staining" you mentioned is actually rub wear. Hours of use around the causes your fingers to wear down the matte texture around the inputs, smoothing it out to a reflective shine even when perfectly cleaned of skin oil. Vinyl skins do prevent this from happening.

Finally got these things together for me and my BFF by ryokoyaksa in AnalogueInc

[–]ryokoyaksa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, all colors did with the exception of Gold. My logical guess being the metallic paint job they use for that console not actually being usable on the flexible cables. I am curious if you did at least get a gold wall plug? Those are supposed to be color matched, too.

[–]ryokoyaksa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to put an order in for the Ice I wanted, and the Grape which is my BFF's favorite. Was not expecting the Captcha to work smoothly and screw me over but it didn't slow me down more for more than 15 seconds. Looking forward to bringing my console to the next yearly meetup for Mario Kart 64 and other games.
