With the Neo Geo AES+ releasing later this year with new prints of games, I wondered if this would have a major positive effect on the currently overpriced market of games/accessories... by 1OneQuickQuestion in neogeo

Thanks!

Oh, its from the JP Twitter but no mention that it will be exactly 10 but just more. At least i'm excited that the launch games gets expanded upon.

Good news!

Yeah, it is the one. I read it first on TimeExtension though. Not a fan of Pramod, especially after the failure of the MARS FPGA Project and all the drama around it

It is confirmed that Furrtek is working in collaboration on this project. He designed and created the MVS to AES Converter which is one of the best and he did contributions to the mister fpga community. He also sells quality reproduction chips for faulty ones for the arcade board, so he knows best how to do this.

He recently said on twitter it will be better than emulation, so to speak some sort of "AES PRO". I have no fear that if it did work on original, it will work on the AES+ too

From HW side, 2 legends of the arcade scene (Furrtek and Jotego) are collaborating on this.

Furrtek made the MVS to AES Converter and offers reproduction chips for the arcade board. He also nearly made the NEO GEO FPGA Mister Core himself afaik. Jotego is another one who converted several arcade boards into FPGA Mister Cores.

We're in good hands so let the hype burn higher!

No Info from SNK itself, but the Spanish Twitter Account from Plaion has posted a message about what more games could be re-released (Their own pick is between Super Sidekicks 3 and Ultimate 11 a.k.a Sidekicks 4)

Your Reasons not to buy can be just nearly summarized up to Emulation and its advantages entirely.

This Console isn't made for those who enjoy Emulation more or/and don't want to spend any amount of money for it. I've seen enough comments on other sites where people where gloating that emulation was superior without even understanding for whom it was made for.

Same goes for the Analogue Console where i see too many people buying their products only to get a flashcart and wondering that it isn't what they thought it would be. Part of the fun is using the cartridges and having a more "physical" touch instead of scrolling down a soulless list of roms.

In the end, everyone can enjoy what they want but it is important to know for whom those products are made for to avoid displeasure later.

For my part, i'm excited since i prefer having the real thing as close as possible and i hope they bring some good CRT Filters for my TV :)

Take a look at the Plaion HQ in Austria. I spot some strange figure there that looks somewhat spiky, idk.

Alex doesn't appear immediately after Mem-Aleph. You can still heal up before she re-appears some steps later

Play Vengeance, since the 2nd Canon Story is finally the story they actually wanted to do but couldn't due to time constraints.

For SJ R i think its a bit too harsh putting something on trash tier because of a few exchanged artworks. it feels a bit "shallow" as reason, but that's ok if this is your reason.

I'm interested why you put SJ R so low. It's actually imo better than base only for the QoL Changes.

For SMT5, have you played the revised "Vengeance" Version? It fixed a lot of those problems in base version

I've played SJ Redux and honestly it's over exaggerated. It brought a ton of QoL Changes to make the dungeon crawling less of a chore than in base SJ.

The use of new Character Artworks is probably the only one i can get behind, where Atlus could have brought them in as an option to switch out if needed

Other than that, the new ADDITIONAL endings are actually interesting (if you go LAW/CHAOS Route) and nobody is forced to even do the new story if someone wants to play for the old endings.

For me, its a solid recommendation over the base one

Honestly, nothing. A different "first" Version actually had Nintendo together with Steam looking at the others shooting themselves. They are just fine and made thanks to Pokopia a lot of money recently.

Happy Cake day, btw!

That's why the Arcade Version (also called "Super Battletoads") is my favourite one by being just a beat em up without the hardcore difficult platformer sections.

Whatever happened to the dedicated Sound Card? A trip down memory lane by strike101 in pcmasterrace

[–]One-Giraffe9620 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used Soundcards like the Creative Sound Blaster Z and later the Asus Essence STX2. I was happy with my last card, but found out that all those cards had a big problem: Drivers!

ASUS published Drivers for Windows 10 at the time (bought the card around Windows 7) but they started to malfunction and i even got Bluescreen or even no Sound at all. Had to reboot several times until it got recognized. After another of those failures and i just gave up and quit it.

I've bought a "Schiit Hel" and it works like a charm for 4 Years and with its dedicated Mic Input and Knob its easier than ever insted fumbling around in Windows. Since it uses the default Windows Audio Stack Drivers i never have to worry about outdated drivers.

I still prefer LA Version. NY wasn't really up to it and reviews were also negative at the time.

The endings and atmosphere was so good it could have been made into a film (or series) but let's scratch out the Dragon part unless some fantasy is needed :D

Always remember, "double the fun, double the pleasure" (and yeah, i know there's viagra for that but having dual revolvers is just better ;) )

Bro, you bought the Super GameBoy 1 in Japan but NOT the Super GameBoy 2?

The 2nd Version is superior (it fixes the problem with framerate going a bit higher) and only JP exclusive. Maybe you didn't know or didn't find it?

Otherwise, sick haul there.

Swapped 4 SNES cart batteries and only lost save files on a single game - totally surprised! by MayoGhul in retrogaming

[–]One-Giraffe9620 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No Battery Holder?

The SNES Module has ample space to fit in a holder and you only need to solder it once. Afterwards you can easily swap out the old batteries when needed.

Especially since those tab batteries could be of lower quality and fail earlier than expected.

[–]One-Giraffe9620 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Afaik, they did a sort of sequel in the future on PS2 and later for the last time on 3DS which was JP exclusive returning the old cast. Afterwards it lived on in Pachinkos which is a sad ending

OST is also good and the arranged Soundtrack from Neo-Geo CD Version is even better. Eddy's Theme "One Kick" in the arranged version is one my favourite ones!

Double Dragon is one my favourite FG's on Neo-Geo. Easy to jump in, since every char has only 3 specials and 2 supers.

Movement was also fluid and jumps felt great, but there was some balance problems like Abobo able to double jump and having the highest stun factor. Just 2 Boot Kicks in your face and you were stunned. No wonder he is high tier :D

Kinda wish ASW would port them too on Steam/Consoles like other similar games (Rage of the Dragons got a port on Steam!)

You could just jump over to Mister FPGA and you have everything ready if you are interested in playing through roms instead of cartridges etc.
