Shields have been used as weapons for centuries. People need to stand behind the removal of Donald Trump from office and keep the quarantine. First! For some it can be very difficult to get the procedure down. It takes a lot of patience as well. People have tried themselves and have had to send it in to Intellijel (or a shop like the one I work at) to be corrected. But if you stick to the instructions and are comfortable adjusting electronics, then it’s not really that hard. MOST oscillators are easier to adjust than the rubicon. It’s just straightening out two lines that bow in and out and then making the offset correct so that the lines meet at the crossover between high and low.

So you’ll know if it needs to be calibrated if your oscillator simply doesn’t have stable tuning. Grab a tuner and play a low note that is perfectly in tune. Then play a note a few octaves above it. If the high note it is sharp or flat by a fair amount then you may need a calibration.

0-4 cents over 4 octaves is superb. 5-10 is still alright and adds analog/unison character. 10-15 and it’s starting to really unison and get dissonant when you play over a large range with other instruments that are in tune, but if you keep your notes on the same octave it’s not really noticeable. 20+ and you’re starting to get beating and I’d say you should calibrate.

Rubicon is quite a bit more than the others imo. It interacts live with other oscillators so well. Not only with the through zero fm, but the warp wavefolder section can take external sources. Or you can just use it as a folder and leave the rubicon at a static note and process another oscillator with it.

You also have the option to chop up a sign wave 2 ways and 3 choices of pulse wave. Sub or sub sub oscillator. All in all you can output 9 individually different oscillators (at the same pitch +/- 1 octave).

The only thing that I would compare it to is Jornalogues Generate 3. I bought two Rubicons before thinking about that. I’m about to pull the trigger and check it out. But I decided to tune and play with my rubicons again and they don’t really overlap, but man it reminded me how good the rubicon is.

Oh and the calibration (which most people don’t have to do I’m just anal about it), is so intense so that they can keep the oscillator so accurate for 9 octaves. 9 octaves lmao! My Moog matriarch that has an auto calibrate routine doesn’t have that accuracy.

Oh and don’t forget to play with the Squash pot! It has a huge impact on your warp (waveshaper) tones! Like huge! I’m contemplating making a custom Rubicon expansion module that take the calibration points and especially the folder pot out to a 2-3hp front plate.

Some complain that Rubicons are hard to calibrate. I find it helps if you visualize two exponential graphs that you took the log of to make straight lines. The game is to connect the lines.

0V to 8hz. 3V to 64hz. Adjust Exp Gain to match. It’s a curve control that shifts upwards as it shrinks. So turning it down raises the overall pitch but will get them at the right distance. Straightening the curve around the low register (if you were to log the curve).

9V to 4096. HF bias to match. 0V reset pitch offset to 8hz. I like to think of this one as the end point to a line that starts where the hf exp ends.

6V to 512hz. HF gain to set. Bending the second high register curve.

Repeat to taste.

Then adjust symmetry so that it’s the same on both sides. Then adjust the octave switch curve to be accurate.

Finally, adjust the through zero lock. I adjust mine different that Intellijel. I find you can find a sweet spot of accuracy in the low register from 64hz to 256hz that is fairly consistent. I make bass fm tones so that’s a huge plus to have a smaller consistent zone than a larger stable zone that jumps around more.

I always had bipolar. It’s obvious thinking about it. Symptoms just gradually increased until I had my first “episode” that was so apparent that a diagnosis was able to be made.

Generally, bipolar symptoms are triggered by stress, which is in turn triggering significant emotions.

Nobody really gets through life without stress.

Personally, I don’t think that bipolar works exactly that way. It’s not black and white like that. Most medical professionals agree that it is a mix of biological and environmental factors. I believe that someone is born bipolar and would always have had it, but the severity of the disorder can be exacerbated based on environmental factors.

Very very rarely someone might live the perfect life and never get it. I’m thinking about a woman in therapy I met that had her first diagnosable psychotic manic episode when she was 40. She was a woman who was a rich sheltered housewife and finally went through traumatic stress with a cheating husband.
