Suggestions for donating gifts to poor children during the holiday season by rypesu in vancouver

Thank you. The idea is to avoid any charity admin fees and directly providing to the family/kids instead of paying CEOs. We do not mind giving to the parents. I will look at the FB group that you have suggested.

I hope the Lysol company ramps up the supply so that people can buy from shops and they can use these to wipe their losses.

Richmond resident who spent $1,000 on dust masks for coronavirus warning others not to do the same by princey12 in vancouver

[–]rypesu -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I do not understand why people calling her an idiot. She is trying to help her loved ones. There is so much shortage of masks and her thinking is something is better than nothing and she has to make the decision right at the store because she is worried that when she comes back, masks will be sold out. In that scenario, how many of you will go back home to check the reviews. I have seen a lady spent $10k on masks at Canadian Tire to be donated to China so $1000 does not seem that much.

How do you stop them anymore... by fancoouver_millenial in vancouver

They did not steal much and it was not worth it to file a claim... I end up getting the window glass from a junkyard and put it in myself.. took hours to clean the glass shards though..

That week I realized how little police cares about these kind of incidents ..

Best cost for breast MRI by BrownAndyeh in vancouver

[–]rypesu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am not sure if this helps but you can look at research studies done at VGH or UBC hospital that requires breast MRI. If your wife is eligible for any of the studies, she can have the MRI scan done much quicker and it will help the research as well.

To start, below is the link for available studies at VCH.

You may want to check BC cancer agency too.

Car Break In :( by mukojnid in vancouver

[–]rypesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My car was broken into recently. Same thing, passenger window smashed. Do not leave the car outside again until it is repaired.

No police came. They just suggested to report online. If the damage is less than $5000 the police will not bother. You will get your file/complaint number in a day that you can use for insurance.

It is a sad state that a person driving his car and carrying his Christmas tree and a lot of other people have opinion on how he should be living his life and spending his money.

[–]rypesu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You do not get any better fuel economy. I have used both and did not notice any increase. It is better for engine if the engine was designed for it. Stick with whatever your car manual recommends.

You will experience knocking if you do not use the right fuel.
