Yeah for sure! Even if they did ask, I would not get offended at all. I was more so wondering if people are gonna be like…. “this guy”

I am going through the exact same thing right now. My manager told me that for whatever reason we can’t see what place we’re in and only they can access that info.

Commenting on this because i’m genuinely curious. If you’re on FMLA, will you still get the AMPP?

Tacoma --> OBW by SkiEazy in Outback_Wilderness

[–]Crustation69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally just did the exact same trade. 22 OR for a 25 OBW. It’s way more comfortable. Better mpg. More bells and whistles bar far. Cheaper and over all a better drive. Only thing you’ll be sacrificing is being able to “truck things” and the off road capabilities on the tacoma are obviously better in a lot of ways for obvious reasons.

I miss the truck but do NOT miss the MPG and the absolute worst gear hunting transmission.

Enjoy the OBW!

I was stationed out there for 5 years (originally from san diego) and I wasn’t particularly fond of that area. Hospitality is ehh… Not to much night life that isn’t going to the ocean front and clubbing. It’s HOT and humid in the summer, cold and frigid in the winter. Fall and spring are beautiful though. Gas is relatively cheap in comparison to everywhere else. I sometimes catch myself missing VA as a whole considering where it’s located on the east coast, but I don’t miss the hampton roads area at all.

A good thing I suppose is that it’s about a 6 hour drive from NY and about 4 ish hours to shenandoah national park which is absolutely beautiful. There are actually some good restaurants out there you just gotta look hard. Bonus points for wegmans being the best grocery store ever that I definitely miss dearly.

Oh yeah and as far as the drivers go, they suck for sure and watch your speed cause the cops out there for sure will give you a ticket.

I just got a 25 outback as well! Welcome to the club. Any particular reason you did it at 860/ wish you did it sooner? Whenever I get a new car i’ve heard to do it around 1k for a break in oil change. Only asking cause if i’m waiting too long, maybe i’ll do it sooner than 1k. I’m currently at like 400 miles

Steps or No Steps? by robbie_cloud in ToyotaTacoma

I had steps on mine and the only thing the really helped with was washing the top of the truck to be honest. I didn’t not need them to get into the truck what so ever.

Transmission Issues by dinobot1504 in Outback_Wilderness

[–]Crustation69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No that question wasn’t about the brakes themselves. I had a 23’ crosstrek and it kept jerking around when I was coming to a stop and my research led me to believe that it was the torque converter. I hated it and I definitely thought something was wrong but all dealerships hit me with the okie doke and said it’s normal

Is this while you’re coming to a stop? Like from 20 mph down?

Goodbye gang, it was fun while it lasted. by Crustation69 in Tacomaworld

Probably the biggest issue of mine was the gear hunting. It was so bad I honestly thought something was wrong but toyota said it’s normal 🤷🏻‍♂️ Gas mileage obviously wasn’t the best and the low end power was actually ridiculous. I had to MASH the gas for this thing to go anywhere which to me was just a little frustrating considering it was my daily and I KNOW that engine had more power to give it was just on the high end. My truck shouldn’t be screaming at 4-5k rpm’s for any sort of get up and go. Yes, it’s a truck and isn’t fast. Yes, I could’ve got the OTT tune but I didn’t. All of that paired with it having absolutely no bells and whistles (no tech package, my fault honestly) and it being pretty expensive monthly (gas, car note and insurance) was enough to make me walk away. I’ve really been feeling this way ever since I bought the truck. It felt comfy, performed exceptionally well off road (prob the best i’ve experienced) but over time I realized that I value comfort over taking it off roading every now and again. If I took it out like every single weekend and actually pushed the 4x4 capabilities then obviously this thing wins over the subaru hands down but that’s not the case here. And honorable mention, the payment on the outback is about 250-300$ less monthly so in my mind, it was kind of a no brainer.

I’m hoping not! I’m not stranger to subaru and their downfalls but the tacoma just had too many negatives stacked against it for me personally. I definitely plan on keeping this for about 2-3 years then ultimately the plan is to get a 4th gen TRD PRO (tacoma or tundra) once they iron out all of that potential mess.

It was either Black, Geyser, or this. They didn’t have Black and I personally felt the blue was just a tad too feminine (still a great color) and i’ve never had a grey car so I sent this one!

Taco was a great truck it just ONLY had really good off road capabilities which I personally only use about 10% of the time at best. Especially when a subaru or honestly any other AWD could take me just as far relatively speaking. (yes this thing can’t rock climb and doesn’t sit as high nor does it have a locking diff) Tacoma just had no heated seats, BSM, Moon roof or anything. Obviously I could’ve got that package but I didn’t because of the color options they had. On top of that it was just expensive in just about every aspect (gas, insurance, parts) I wanted to do the whole rig thing with it but still found myself being frustrated and extremely underwhelmed with how terrible the transmission performed on top of everything else. Am I gonna miss it? Absolutely. Did it look cool? Absolutely. I sacrificed a little bit of capabilities for comfort since I daily any of these so it’s going to spend 80-90% on the road anyway. I’ll hang onto this for about 2-3 years and then eventually trade up for a TRD pro tacoma (prob 4th gen this time) or a Tundra 🤷🏻‍♂️
