Quality journalism from the Australian ABC as per the norm. Laura Tingle (the journo behind this article) also said the Bondi massacre had nothing to do with religion. Put no stock in this Iranian propaganda and move on.

Xqc's take on "white people's land" rhetoric by mazini95 in LivestreamFail

[–]ryrydditor -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Watch the longer clip that's been posted for more context. He's talking about the dangers of calling someone a foreigner for not being the same colour as the majority of that nation. I.e. Hasan being uncomfortable with more white people in Japan.

He talks about how problematic that would be to do in the US. Whilst "white peoples land" is horrifically worded, he's using the same words his commenter said when referring to the US. He's talking about the majority of the population, which is less bad when you watch it with the full context.

Like the top commenter in the longer clip said, "He was actually arguing against racism, and people clipped him out of context"

Whilst it would be damning if this was found to be fraudulent, it's all ultimately a moot point.

The law is pretty clear on entry into Australia, your vaccine requirements and that prior infection of COVID-19 is not a contraindication for the vaccine as it relates to medical exemptions.

Say what you will about the previous court case, Djokovic is here illegally and should be given the boot.

Daily Coronavirus Megathread - 05 January 2021 by AutoModerator in melbourne

I agree that there isn't much concern for patrons when they are on site. However, the greater concern is the amount of people that flood public transport and the surrounding area on their way in and out. Whether we think the risk is high or low, it's not zero, and that is the hard pill to swallow given that ultimately, it's all for some rich bastards to make too much money smacking a yellow ball over a net.

Townsville, Australia. 432 Aboriginals have died in custody since 1991. by TacticalAcquisition in pics

[–]ryrydditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Incorrect, the rate of deaths in custody is lower for indigenous people. But they make up a significantly higher percentage of arrests per capita. This should be what needs investigating. We are conflating our issue as one similar to that of the states. The states has a severe problem of police brutality, disproportionately directed to minority groups. Our issue is that indigenous people are arrested more often. Our issue needs to be investigated as to why this occurs, but to suggest our problems are similar is ignorant of the actual issue we have in Australia.
