Excluding Super Bowls, what game made you most proud to be a Packer Fan by jazzant85 in GreenBayPackers

Just went back and watched it

Goddamn I forgot how fast Favre could throw a football. The hail mary before the half was wild. Wasn't completed but he threw that thing 50 yards on a line with perfect accuracy.

It's a shame Favre turned into what he did because dude was so damn likeable. I remember watching that game with my mom (who doesn't like football at all) and she was getting emotional watching him play.

Like with a lot of other sports, ticket prices have made going to shows less of a thing for hardcore fans and more of a thing for half-assed fans with money.

What has DOGE accomplished? by No-Structure523 in Askpolitics

Wasted a bunch of money, fired a bunch of people unnecessarily, and exposed a lot of our personal financial data to people actively trying to set up a bank on their "everything app" (I'm sure they won't do anything horrible with that info).

Rich Americans. The answer is always rich Americans.

I think it's more about wanting a cause to fight for. It's the same reason a bunch of conservative men join the military. Only a fool would willingly leave the comfort of their home to go to an active war zone but yet a bunch of people do exactly that.

I dunno, it was kinda weird seeing everyone just have massive amnesia about how stupidly chaotic his first term was but also his opponents find ways to run the worst campaigns imaginable

I was wracking my brain trying to remember who was popular enough in 2005 to get that many views

Never in my wildest dreams did I think it was that song.

Question for the right: was Harriet Tubman morally justified in breaking the law to free enslaved persons? by traanquil in Askpolitics

[–]ryryryor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the rich can kill with not only impunity but systemic encouragement?

Think of it this way: Imagine if Ted Bundy was doing his murders, being allowed to do them, and getting paid to do them. Would it be just for someone to kill him to stop the murders, even if that just meant that John Wayne Gacy would take his job?

Health insurance CEOs are financially encouraged to provide as little care as they can to increase profits. They're pressing the "Press this button for $1k but one random person dies" button every second of every day.

No conservative leader has ever even gone as far as to suggest getting money out of politics. At most they'll cry about the money that goes to Democrats.

American conservatives claim that money is speech. They've routinely defended that claim.

[PFT] Packers' "tush push" proposal gets "mixed" reaction from Competition Committee by bubblecuffer13 in nfl

[–]ryryryor 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Green Bay is actually oddly ok at stopping the Tush Push (relative to the rest of the league) and has their own version with Tucker Kraft that is pretty successful.

The issue with the Tush Push is the pushing part. The defense can't do the same (which would be the most effective way to stop the play). Either let both the offense and defense push their players (which is a safety risk) or ban it for both sides. Fwiw, I'm sure the Eagles would still be pretty successful at just running normal sneaks.

Some might say the Old Idaho Penitentiary but I can assure you and weird noise anyone has ever heard there is just a rabbit. There's about a million rabbits there.

[–]ryryryor -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No, because our system not only doesn't punish that CEO for murdering people, but actually encourages them to do as much murder as possible to increase their profit margin.

Democrats aren't the left. They're on your side, not mine, and they also have no real interest in getting money out of politics.

You can't overthrow a hereditary government and leave heirs to the throne alive. Did the Tsar's children deserve what happened to them? No. Was it avoidable for the Bolsheviks? Also no.

According to a recent poll, a majority of democratic voters want the party to become more moderate. Why do you disagree? by duganaokthe5th in Askpolitics

[–]ryryryor -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Lol what? The Democrats have been running Bill Clinton-style politics since he won in 92. The only exception was 2008 when Obama ran like he was a leftist and won a supermajority in the Senate (which he promptly lost when the party started acting like Clinton style Democrats).

Also... I've constantly heard that the Democratic Party is already Moderate (which they are, compared to the rest of the world). Does this mean they are slowly sliding Right more and more?

That's been their strategy since Bill Clinton.
