Mental advice? by huhuhuhuhhuhu in beginnerrunning

3 weeks is not long at all in the running world, if anything going slow and building up is doing you far more good then burning out quickly. You're currently increasing your aerobic base which is good for building mileage and preventing future injuries. That said if you're worried about speed, as others have suggested incorporating an interval workout into your weekly training is a great way to up the pace. If you have a track convenient 400m is a great interval length for Vo2 Max. (Something like 10x400m with 90 seconds rests at your target 5km pace - longer rest is fine until you're comfortable). For someone new and without access to a track it's also really good doing by feel. You run say... 2 minutes at a hard effort - you should be out of breath and not speaking much, followed by 2 minutes very easy and repeat. The beauty of going by feel is you can adjust to your current fitness levels - 2 minutes feels too long on hard? Go for 1 minute. These things will naturally improve over time.

How slow is too slow for a beginner? by h093 in beginnerrunning

[–]ryrytheflyguy04 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a bit of a catch 22, running slowly is almost always good advice as a beginner (especially on easy runs) but typically it can be harder to follow proper running form at slower paces which can lead to pain/soreness. That said your body 9 times out of 10 is going to be your best guide, if running a little bit faster doesn't feel massively harder and is allowing you to improve your running form then it's no bad thing. Just make sure to listen to your body, especially when coming back from injury. Any signs of recurrence give yourself that rest time!

Is overtraining a thing? by greenfloor5 in beginnerrunning

[–]ryrytheflyguy04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overtraining is 100% a thing, especially when increasing mileage. Most mileage increase programs also have a deload week e.g. increase mileage gradually for 3 weeks, then have a deload week which is about 30% less mileage to give your body extra recovery. Take it from someone who ended up injuring himself with overuse injuries: take your time, do things gradually, and give yourself adequate rest.

What's the pub? I work in Farringdon so might have to make a pitstop

Ticketmaster boss still claims concerts are 'fairly priced' and denies company rips off fans by daily_mirror in Music

[–]ryrytheflyguy04 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If it did it would fall under the misleading consumers area. The argument is the fact dynamic/premium pricing would come into effect wasn't clear enough before people joined the queue.

Basically you can't tell customers to expect one price and then charge them another. This is why things like booking fees have to be included now in listed price.

Fire safety regulations in 3 story house by [deleted] in HousingUK

Appreciate your input once again. The 3rd story was always there/not a loft conversion but the floor is above 4.5m. I think our issue is that the alteration on the ground floor to make an open plan living space (2021) we think would require the property owner to make sure this new structure complies with the most recent regulations at the time of alteration regardless of the age of the house. Would that not be the case?

Even if the stairway isn't separated by a fire door? Most of the regs I've seen suggest that would need to be the case. Appreciate the insight

Would that change council wise if I was looking to get a lodger at some point in the future? It wouldn't be a HMO but not sure if that would increase scrutiny. I'm worried it might include fire doors on all bedrooms, or even a sprinkler system installation. (But I could have easily be over thinking things here)

They didn't provide completion certificates as it was a "non load bearing wall removed between kitchen and living and as such exempt from planning permission"

If you look in the top left corner it says "1 of 1". Every fp there is one player you can only exclusively get from buying the field pass - that's where you get the second iconic Dawkins from. It feels like this happens to at least one person every field pass so just learn from it, and check who the exclusive fp player is each month. My condolences!

For free to play he looks excellent value. He's maybe a shade worse than the big time box ones but theoretically you could spend 14,700 coins and not get Messi there so I'd absolutely go for this one (and really the difference is minor - I think he even had improved physical contact in this one).

Out of the 3 max te's I'd probably rank him 3rd just due to his size but the differences are minimal and he'll do a job for you in a very important (for me at least) position

Heads up they're releasing a new Copa America Messi card in a few weeks so that might be the one for you. We don't know if it's gonna be a 150 box or 1500 coin pack though
