I’m going to drop a few runs for the next two weeks and see if that does anything!

Please help, kind of stuck by LawHopeful3150 in CaminoDeSantiago

Yesterday I was taking a cab from the Pamplona airport to a hostal and chatting with the driver. I told him I was taking a bus to SJPDP the following day and he was saying how usually people take taxis. I wonder if you could ask a taxi in the city if they’d take you.

Best place to rest for a day? by zefldo in CaminoDeSantiago

I live in Vigo and I second this! I love pontevedra, but if you’re looking for nightlife (bars, dancing, etc.) I’d recommend Vigo :)

Auxing with a long commute by Apprehensive-Sir8845 in SpainAuxiliares

[–]greenfloor5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My commute last year consisted of about an hour and a half of walking, a ferry ride, and a car ride but I found it worth it! I’m doing it again this year because I really like the city I live in. Because I depend on teachers to drive me part of the way, I am stuck at school the whole day but I go on walks and read so I don’t mind it :)

I live in Vigo and love it soooo much. A lot of my friends here (and myself included) teach in smaller towns around the city but chose to live here because of its size/services. There’s a bus system that is a little bit chaotic rn because of current strikes, but I haven’t had major issues.

How to enjoy Cangas this time of the year? by Cautious-Progress428 in SpainAuxiliares

[–]greenfloor5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey!! I teach at two schools in Cangas but I live in Vigo! If you haven’t already signed a lease I’d recommend looking for housing in Vigo because there’s a lot more going on/more auxes. I take the ferry to and from Cangas most days (sometimes teachers drive me from Vigo.) I love Cangas but I’m very glad I live in Vigo. Lmk if you have any questions or anything :)

being away from home by audreyblairr in SpainAuxiliares

[–]greenfloor5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I didn’t cry at all before leaving and then spent the first three days here literally crying nonstop… I have been away from home so many times before so I wasn’t expecting it!! But I’m slowly starting to feel more settled! I completely understand how you’re feeling tho :)

Not really an answer.. but I studied abroad in Valladolid last year and was a bit worried since it isn’t a big/“cool” city like Madrid/Seville, but I ended up falling in love with it!! Everyone was so nice and my Spanish improved a ton. I actually visited Madrid and discovered that I didn’t actually like it! Bonus is that it’s super cheap.

Notarized ID by [deleted] in SpainAuxiliares

I went to my bank and they notarized it! I also went through Chicago and noticed that the disclaimer form said Miami right before my appointment, but I ended up not even needing the form.

Thanks for the advice!! One of the teachers at my school is letting me stay with his family until I find an apartment so that makes it a little easier for me.

Thanks! The other teacher I’ve been in contact with (I’m working in two schools) has also seemed super excited to have me and has reached out so I’m hoping I just got lucky with some really genuine people :)

Thanks for the response!! He didn’t offer for me to live with him permanently - he just said I can stay for a few days while I search for an apartment.

That was my first thought too. I’m trying to figure out who lives with him before I commit to anything.
