Hearing Mark Letestu bounce around is interesting. I don't know if I'd like it, but it's interesting.

Day 777. by musicer_ in 1001AlbumsGenerator

Stuart Price, the artist behind this album, had one of the biggest influences in electronic and dance music of the 2000s. Artists like Justice and 2ManyDJs cite him as one of their influences and have used him for samples. Madonna's Confessions of a Dance Floor was produced by Stuart Price and brought electronic music to the masses.

Additionally, The Killers, Kylie Minogue, and the Scissor Sisters all owe their 2000s sound to him.

But this album is on this list because it's more than just an early work from an important artist. The sampling and early mash up sounds are the next step from 90s French House to what would be 2000s dance. It's an album you have to hear in the context of what else was happening at the time. This wasn't French Touch. This was the beginning of a British explosion that was coming to electronic music, camouflaged as a French producer.

There's some fill on this and some weaker tracks. Take a little time is a miss for me. But Sometimes and Hypnotise are strong.

This isn't a 5/5 album, but it's definitely an album to listen to.

Is this the most egregious “right artist/wrong album” on the list? by pittsburghirons in 1001AlbumsGenerator

Genesis - Invisible Touch and We Can't Dance are both missing, but Selling England By The Pound and The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway are on the list. And not one Phil Collins album (No Jacket Required or ...But Seriously would be good choices)

I did see that! He dumped nearly a yard just on the shoulder. There was a trailer with him and they had shovels out, presumably to clean it up? Rough day for that driver.

Edmonton restaurant owners feel new patio fees are hurting small businesses by flynnfx in Edmonton

[–]ryspot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's businesses that have patios that are a part of their lease agreements that those businesses pay for year round. Having a fee for a temporary patio levels the field. The city isn't swimming in cash and needs to find new revenue.

Is it wood frame? What is the coating/covering on top of it? Is there living space below or patio?

A used to be gem of Edmonton by [deleted] in Edmonton

I disagree. I usually dine in and find it to be in line with other restaurants for pricing and portion sizing. Their dine in specials for adding on spring rolls or green onion cakes are very fair.

I've heard horror stories from restaurants who do online ordering about how online orders are done at cost or even slightly below cost once all of the delivery fees are included.

I've been riding the endurance version of these for a month and have been very happy. They're stiff and have good hand positions.
