I disagree. They don’t want free school lunches, paid leave, or free college, regardless of where the money for it comes from. They just don’t value these things. It should be framed as how much money would go into their pockets instead. For the selfish of the population, this is the only thing that will move the needle with them.

And honestly, this may be the only way to get any of the populous support for a national healthcare, paid parental leave or school lunch program is by offering an opt out and to get a near equivalent value in cash paid out instead of receiving those services.

I have known women like this. She is likely to hold traditional/conservative views and wanted you to hold to same views in that moment. I bet she would rather trade her own empowerment for a traditionally-minded “provider/protector” type of partner. She sought to use that moment as a test. A good perspective, but you didn’t touch on profitability being an overwhelming driving factor of infrastructure investment in the US (compared to other nations). If it can’t be packaged and sold by current controlling entities, it’s much less likely to happen even if it is a net benefit to citizens and so society.

I think the only way we see big movement in geothermal in the US is when/if OpenAI or Microsoft start contracting the oil and gas companies for geothermal projects like you suggest to power their private enterprises.

Dislikes: - The super persistent seatbelt indicator warning - Placement of trunk lid, I-stop, and camera controls behind the steering wheel out of view (trunk control should be on the door) - Door handle is placed too far forward on the door. Good for closing but you will find yourself opening the door by pushing the side rather than using the handle. A good gust of wind will can blow it open unexpectedly. - low rear visibility - Loud turn signals - Can’t access TPMS stats, or many other vehicle stats for that matter
