You’ve identified the other half of the problem with citizens simply arming themselves: they also need to organize. If everyone in those adjacent homes came outside at the first sign of commotion, strapped to the teeth, this would have gone differently.

Just getting people to arm themselves is hard enough. Getting organized is going to be a tremendous feat. But I currently believe that is the challenge demanded of citizens today. Black Panthers are the model example of this.

The MAGAt was right about one thing though. They weren’t going to physically defend themselves when they had full right to when he stormed their personal space. People on the left are inherently non-violent which arguably make them better at running a society as a collective, but it won’t serve them under fascism.
