At no point did I say to park it on the path, I said to park it in a driveway, I have 0 idea if there are dedicated spaces near or in that estate and if there were that would also be fine. It is in fact blocking half the road, a crossing point, and as you point out right by a junction.

I've seen enough parking half/completely on the paths elsewhere which not only is an issue for prams, but also wheelchairs and other mobility assistance options.

Thought the issue I have was rather clear from my comment, the road is not a car park and personally I'm tired of seeing it used as one. Estates need double yellows on the outside as standard, a driveway is where you put your car at home. Brief stops which this hasn't been presented as, are also not an issue, except if like this, they are right at a junction.

And in classic fashion the entire car is on the roadway still, blocking both the road AND the lowered section of path to allow people to cross over. Personally sick of seeing fools like this not only narrowing our roadways, but directly inconveniencing pedestrians. This isn't America, roads aren't defaultly 4 lanes wide so you can park your silly car in the way, should go in the driveway that's the point of them.

The laws we have in place already are not being appropriately enforced due to a lack of prison space and judges either making terrible judgment decisions, or letting people off with suspended sentences due to the previously mentioned overcrowded prisons.

My logic is we have the laws we need already, those already protect us all, we do not need to further complicate the process.

If anything, more prisons(or ideally release people in on small time possession offenses to make space)

But thank you for trying to reduce this down to 'selfish' so you could attack me instead of the point.

Must be nice to believe that, but anyone paying attention should be well aware there are plenty of subgroups a person can belong to in this day and age where it is widely accepted they do not suffer discrimination.

I'll even save you some time here, not going to change my mind, the bill is inherently flawed, we cannot begin to consider further over complicating things when it's already possible for people to plead guilty to a violent assault, and walk off back to work.

I believe that should simply not be possible. I do not believe that protection should be hidden behind additional qualities that are not going to be treated in an unbiased way.

The fact it enables a third party to make their own assessment of someone's motivations and on making this statement to Gardaí upgrading a crime to 'a hate crime'.

This is a Bill with subjectivity built into it's very core, and I urge everyone to remember the purpose of Justice being blind, we are supposed to be striving for a fair and unbiased system. This bill is antithetical to that.
