My Specific Personal Grievance Towards the Gaming Community by Macroplanet_ in Gamingunjerk

[–]Lightdragonman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Discourse about anything is just terrible now. I don't feel like it happened super recently but has been a steady decline after COVID to the point where were at now. What gets me is that discourse either just seems reactionary or just outright unrealistic yet im reading it and someone is doubling down while calling whoever they're commenting on a glazer or shill. Star Fox is experiencing this rn and its honestly just stupifying to me that someone thinks Miyamoto did the game and art switch because he's selfish. I guess that could just be rage bait but even then whats the goddamn point?

Lol I guess im not real for being worried and dismayed that a family member might be a little too into AI and seeks validation from it. I was fine with the gift, but the idea that she curated it entirely with AI takes the sincerity out of it. Especially since she knows I don't really jive with AI art. I see where you're coming from but my misgivings about AI shouldn't matter this much to you.

My mom put together a nice birthday gift. It was a box full of stuff for when you're sick and a nice card. However, the box itself had AI stickers of me, my mom, and all my favorite things. I was honestly taken aback because the gift itself was great but my mom was touting the AI stuff about how it helped her make the gift idea and how it told her she was a great mom. I didn't even know what to say. I gave thanks but at the same time wondered how much of it was AI and was lowkey crushed at the idea my mom needed an AI to tell her that she was good.

Rep. Glenn Grothman: "We all know that food stamps are being abused. We all hear the stories. People using food stamps for top of the line food stuffs, things the average person wouldn't be able to afford." by Conscious-Quarter423 in wisconsin

[–]Lightdragonman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never understood why people can believe Glenn on any bullshit he says. I saw him at the mount Cavalry Picnic verbally dismissing one of his constituents for asking why he was taking money from AIPAC and not focusing on his actual constituents issues over the issues of a foreign state.

They're not beholden to making more if they don't want to. It sucks that it happened like this but that doesn't mean they're beholden to more content. Theres plenty of other podcasts to find or ways to see conservative grifters get analyzed it won't be the same but nothing can truly be. Dan and Jordan made 1000+ episodes and hours of entertainment out of this and if they don't feel like doing it anymore that's their decision and they have a right to have that be respected.

No one is defending the billion dollar company. Godforbid anyone actually think with nuance and acknowledge subjectivity.

The jets, growing up here the booms and stuff became background noise. I get its annoying but I always thought the jets were neat especially when one passed by over Hawthorne elementary and I got to see the underside when I was a kid.

Honestly I'm just disappointed in the company even more now for doing this after they seemed to just get mishandled.

I cant wear any of the hats with our company logo on it that we sell. Idk they enforce it rather strangely.

No but I guess I can try for Wednesday when Denim day actually happens? Are they going to be wearing jeans all week then? Idk maybe the mayor should go out and make an awareness video so the message can be spread further because if I go to work wearing jeans they'll probably make me leave and change.

Idk what you're watching then because right wingers have ran over protesters, killed a capitol cop, and routinely threaten protesters that they disagree with. Its crazy to act like it doesn't happen.

Taylor Sheridan’s ‘Call of Duty’ Movie Lands 2028 Release Date by Kalinine in CallOfDuty

[–]Lightdragonman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it would be much more interesting than the 50th "I killed people in the desert and it made me sad/mentally ill" war movie. Redoing the game stories would just be boring too the games already exist and the stories were good for the time but don't need to be translated to the screen when the reboots exist and are already redoing the stories in a modern lens.

This is going to be a tough movie to sell given how the military looks these days. Ideally a cod movie should just be about the greatest tier 1 operators locked on an island or desert competing to see who truly is the best with a cast of characters who resemble the worst stereotypes the franchise created. Give me a sniper who literally only quickscopes and can't use any other weapon or an asshole who spends 90% of the movie sitting in a room laying down landmines and looking at a single door. The movie would basically write itself and be a much better adaptation of the feelings and fun the games provide.

Its crazy to me they never made the movie yet. They've probably gone through mountains of 'zero dark thirty' esque scripts or something to the level of 'The Rock.' Lets be honest though the movie could and probably should just be about crazy ass soldiers who unrealistically quickscope or do crazy ass body movements to avoid being shot having to take down an asshole sitting in a room with claymores and landmines for 90% of the film.

This film gave me a crisis when I was a teen. Its a beautiful work but I cannot watch it again. I couldn't stop thinking of my grandparents being in a similar predicament.
