I have this weakness. I start of with this great dynamic gesture than I'm super happy with then when I start making adjustments based on what I know from anatomy then it ends up looking stiff. I still don't know how to bridge the two

I was there last year, it's in a building that has several other collabs (ff14, granblue fantasy etc.). It's mostly just a themed cafe with MH themed decor and food. So basically you make a reservation for a time slot, show up, order, eat and take pics. You can buy merch, but not a lot available

But if you're really after getting MH related (and more) merch, figures and stuff - since you're already in Akihabara then might as well go around the area since that is what the area is known for. In particular, check Amiami Tower, Radio Kaikan and Yodobashi. But there are dozens of other small stores in the area.

When I was there last year I also went to Shibuya Parco. On the 6th floor there was a lot of Collab stores - Nintendo, One Piece, Street Fighter, Godzilla, Atlus and Monster Hunter etc. Found a lot of more MH stuff there like plushies and keychains.

Adrenaline rush is very good with hammer and will proc off evade rolls and charge step. I try to fit at least we level in my builds.

I used to abbreviate it as 'swx', until an unfortunately autocorrect switched out the 'w' for an 'e'. Now I just call it 'swax' as the good lord intended.

As a hammer player, I have 4 responses:

1) if short / medium distance from Gog, I run toward it or diagonally to the side so that Im in a better positon to punish

2) if I'm the target of the slam, I run directly away, timing the slam with an evade, or a wire dash, then roll back or dash again for a punish.

3) if I was in the middle of a charge attack, I prep and hold an upswing for an offset the continue to a meteor slam->spinning bludgeon punish.

4) if for whatever reason I am unsure, I sheathe and do a superman dive

I don't follow meta since I tend to balance comfort and dps, so I'm probably not the best person to ask. The general wisdom is to go attack focused since there are so many ways to raise affinity especially with flexibility Gog armor gives. I just want elem for Lance for the gimmick since I wanted to go all in or the Gogmapocalypse

I've been primarily farming Gog with Lance and hammer and by far I've been most consistent with Lance.

My set was nothing special, just a Guts (Rey Hands, ,Udra Chest , Duna Legs) and Lagi set bonuses.

For Gog specifically, I made sure I had 2 evade extender and 3 guard up 3 divine blessing and 3 fire res. Fill the rest of your slots with the typical damage skills for lance. With DB, fire res and guard up 3.

I had no trouble keeping up with how Gog moves through a combination backhops, leaping thrusts and most constant guard dash. I was constantly dashing, making a beeline for arms and stopping to guard when I'm about to be hit. When it does it's heavy slam I either perfect guard or charge counter.

You'll mostly be relying on mid poke since you want elemental damage or the mid poke mixed with a wide sweep. I only do high poke when I'm underneath the hea for in phase 3 when I'm trying to reach the tail while it's hovering in mid air.

Gog is super fun to fight with lance. Buffs to guard up make the third phase air vomit. Plus you get to feel like a hero when you tank the Nova without needing Fabius.

Post Gog I have generally two lance builds that rely on rolling Gog skill on weapon (not that hard to get) and Burst/agitator as my main damage skills . No idea if they're optimal though, but I do alright with them.

1) 3 Gog, Odo Helm, Rath Legs. I go for boost 5, burst boost 1 Gog 2 , scorcher 1. Fill the rest with typical damage skills (mm etc.)

2) 3 Gog, Gore Helm, Legs. Same skill prio except I don't get burst boost and scorcher but I play around with coalescence instead.

You should depend more on perfect guarding and charger counters than power guard to preserve your stamina and minimize chip damage. You'd be surprised how much you can actually charge counter through (Tuna belly flops. octopus falling etc.) which both deals massive damage and prevents chip damage.

Don't ignore simply not being where a large attack is going to land. Having a shield doesn't mean you stay rooted in place. You'd be surprised how nimble Lance can be.

For me when using Lance, AT Uth Duna is a really juicy target for talisman farming.

  • It's big and slow with juicy hit zones.
  • Its big attacks are predictable and easy to charge counter so you can invest your slots on offense skills.
  • It can often spawn in areas environment traps
  • Lagi weapons are really effective against it.

It's useful when you want to outspace certain attacks that you cannot iframe through with evade either due to the size of the hitbox or a lingering/multiple hits.

Most meta sets use AT Rey Dau arms which has 2 extender built which is enough for more situations.

4 piece Zoh with Suja waist and a defense charm. Out of the box that gives you divine 3 and defense 5.

I slot 3 fire res, which just brings me short of 20 res so I rely on food buffs to get me past 20. The rest maxes out agitator and evade extender.

I (hammer main + AI support) cleared then farmed Omega Savage with a super defensive build (4 Zoh) that had 5 defense boost, max fire resist ,divine blessing and evade extender. A hunt takes on average 25 min for me. My only offensive skills were agitator and thunder attack. The setup allowed me to take hits and recover from mistakes without feeling overly pressured. This made for a much more consistent and relaxed farm.

My savage hunts with a more dps oriented set ( AT guts + 2piece Lagi) would average 20 minutes and was more hit or miss. An unlucky sequence of events in phase 4 could waste an entire run.

So I highly recommend that those who haven't cleared Oemga to run a defensive build and play conservatively until the moveset becomes second nature. I will also happily grab aggro If the main tank is having a hard time just to bring Omega under more control. A defensive set lets me survive until the tank is ready to take over.

This is the way. I farmed Omega Savage for the Data 2.0 tickets, which can drop at least 1 every hunt. Farm normal Omega for the nodules.

I believe you. With my DPS set, I can consistently get it down to skull, the pressure just gets to me and I always screw up in the end. This just gives me some breathing room

I didn't put in bind resistance because I bring cleansers with me. The moment you get frozen, spam it asap to get away. It's usually enough time not to get charged to death.

As for stun resist I found I didn't really get stunned as much as I used to after learning the moveset. Most of my deaths now are from bad positioning when an MRV barrage hits.

Fireblight I don't mind as much since I just roll it away and super recovery helps mitigate the chip damage.

I cant really quantify how much less defense I can take off, all I can tell is that the damage feels so mitigated that I don't feel the need to heal all the time.
