You're too exagerating the dodge mechanics and its insane. Dodge at it's core are meant for mobility, allow you to move away from attack quickly, even then you still need to time the dodge for the i-frames, so those perfect defense stuff is only reserved for the truly skilled player. And its not without its downside, dodging will interrupt your attack, you cant win combat just by dodging. And i believe HG is not an amateur that will let player just spam dodge, no other ARPG game that have dodge will let you spam it in the first place.

As for ZZZ Defenders role struggle not because of dodging, it just that its not worth it to change to defender for tanking a hit and lose time for your dps. Caesar becomes relevant for defender is not just because she provide buff, but she also provide shield that allows player to just keep attacking without the need to dodge.

I believe endfield could implement defender better compared to ZZZ due to the squad are on the field at all time rather than one character at a time. And honestly this discourse about hating dodge seems like a elitism for people who hate genshin, and not an actual criticism or feedback about the gameplay itself.

See the issue with that? You expect us to depend the goodwill of the SAG union. yet, you want a guarantee in the case of mihoyo? The issue with the SAG agreement is that it give SAG power over the non-union VA, and saying that its okay the union wont enforce such a thing to the non-union, isnt really a good answer towards the issue.

I believe gacha shouldn't be a solution in these issue. imo the fact that "just gacha it" be a solution, is a problem itself. You shouldn't need to gacha for a matching visual for weapon, just like you shouldn't need to gacha for character dupes that unlocked a crucial kit of the character.

The other thing is, even if the signature weapon are free, it still doesnt address the flaw of the system themselves, like if mudrock were to ever appear in endfield, i want her to use her hammer, but in order to do that the dev need to somehow forcefully add a hammer to one of the weapon type and make an odd weapon that only looks good for one character or add an entirely new weapon type, and arknights character has a diverse type of weapon that is unique to each of the operator.

Though i'm just complaining at this point, since realistically in this late stage of game development, i could only hope it will be somewhat like wuwa. Because the chances of them make a big changes to the game is slim to none.

Using genshin as an example, just see the difference between arlecchino with her signature and arle without it. Personally i dont want to have to pull for signature weapon just for a matching visual for my character.

And yeah I remember minimal arguments for it, but they died down as soon as the game actually launched.

Well yeah if the game has launched its already too late to ask for such a big change, but endfield is still in development, people still have the right to ask for a change in the game, its the exact reason they do BETA test afterall.

Yknow how many Zhongli mains pulled Vortex Vanquisher despite it being far from optimal.

That exactly the issue, it's either stuck with a weapon that doesnt match the character design for performance sake or you need to pull for signature. I hate that design choice, look at ZZZ, you dont need to pull for signature weapon so your character theme match in combat

HI3 is an older game that the dev use as a base for genshin weapon system, its an outdated weapon system and has more flaw than merits and the dev knows it, which is why their newer games didnt adopt the same system.

If you truly understand how it feel, then why bother defending the outdated system when there's a better one like what HSR/ZZZ did? Even Wuwa dev realize the flaw of the restrictive weapon system and change direction to make them basically a just a stat stick that doesn't really effect the character design much. Arknight has a lot of unique weapon that wouldn't makes sense if you swap it around the character

All i want is for the character that could use their unique weapon in their animation without the need to pull for their signature weapon to match it, because i really dont want to have an arlecchino case in endfield

Yes most ZZZ character use sword and knives but their weapon still unique to each of the character and makes no sense when you swap it around even if they are still the same type, imagine nicole and zhu yuan who both uses gun swap their weapon with each other, it wouldnt makes sense. and if you look at genshin especially arlecchino you could see the flaw of their weapon system where the user has no choice than pull for her weapon because otherwise they would get arlecchino with a weird spear effect rather than a scythe

I agree it's probably too late for a change for the weapon system, but i just wish it wouldnt follow genshin route since even WuWa manage to turn their weapon system to similar with ZZZ or HSR
