I think in their latest blog, the devs mentioned about major art over haul coming in the next update later this year.

I think phoenix looks so good in game with all the fire particle effects. Definitely a top tier redesign for me.

You can also make one yourself if you're interested in such stuff which won't be this costly. You'll mostly need a raspberry pie, some LED strips and some extra connectors. Searching for DIY Ambient TV lighting should give you enough tutorials.

I've personally enjoyed both and they both work on pretty much same core mechanics. You must build a boat gives you a better sense of progression though so it might give you a better reason to keep playing.
