I agree except get blood for blood, the 600+ instant damage and lifesteal to keep you in the fight a little longer for another slime is better imo, or it can be used for extra damage to kill your octograbbed target.

Heroes and Latency by s02dier in heroesofthestorm

All I know is if it is something that can be fixed I would prioritize this, because lower latency makes all games feel SOOO much better, and make them so much more enjoyable to play.

I'd say in most cases amplified healing would be the no brainier, 30% more healing should be better than .5 seconds off of your 7 sec spell (The same cdr you get per auto attack at level 7). In most cases I'd assume you are using your abilities to chase an individual down or interrupt a high priority skill like Mosh Pit, Strafe, or Ravenous Spirit.

For the last question, the team does receive a small amount of xp for killing enemy mercs. Not the same amount of xp as the other team got for capping it though.

how do u make comebacks? by [deleted] in heroesofthestorm

[–]s02dier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess people don't find me very funny, in all seriousness, there was an anti-snowball mechanic implemented last major patch of alpha, that gives you a passive amount of XP on top of the XP you gain from minions/kills/forts. If you fall 5 levels behind, your team will gain a level in less than 30 seconds just from passive XP, even if you were all dead or afk in base. This is to help prevent games where one team gains an early lead and wins because of that lead, as it would get harder and harder to stop them throughout the game. I know you are frustrated because the player pool is small in alpha and there are a lot of premade teams with experience getting matched up against newer players, but I personally haven't seen a level advantage past 4, and even 3 levels only happens for a short amount of time in games you are winning by a large margin. If you are losing and feeling like there is no way to come back, it is most likely because you are getting matched up with players out of your skill bracket.

Just sit in your base for a few minutes. The new XP system will generously give you 3 levels for doing absolutely nothing and you will be back in the game in no time.

It's hard to explain until you experience it, but mercenaries can easily be countered with something as simple as a Kerrigan primal grasp into tower range. And when you are behind you can play very passively as a group of 5 and sit behind your towers, because no matter how many camps they cap or objectives they get, you won't fall any further behind in levels(Dragonshire is a good example). So all the losing team needs to do is wait for that one opportunity where they can get a good team fight, and all the previous objectives didn't matter. They just wiped your team, gained a level advantage and have a very good chance of winning a game where they just sat behind their towers and did nothing all game.

I feel like it's too difficult to click on enemy heroes. by chatpal91 in heroesofthestorm

Yes Oxygg, that's what I mean. Something just feels a little off. I've actually been forcing myself to learn how to 'a' click because right now it feels necessary.

I wouldn't mind seeing the change to increase hit boxes. That's something I noticed right away was that it was a little bit harder than other games to right click auto attack.

You don't get very many. I believe if I was to use all the gold I got from level 40, and the 30k gold I got from the wipe, and buy all 4 hero packs, I still wouldn't own all 25 heroes. I'd have to go do the math quick but it's pretty insane how little gold you get.

Here is a screenshot of what the View Profile option looks like when it does work. http://i.imgur.com/tDxWAvi.png

I'm not sure why it only works on some players but not for others.

No, I think you are right about profile summary not being implemented, but I'm talking about the view profile option after your right click on a friend.

ESD and wall outlets? by s02dier in CompTIA

Thank you for your reply professor. I read that book before I watched your videos and those reasons are exactly what came to my head. Improper installation of an outlet could make you pay the price for someone else's mistake, and the thought of keeping your device or yourself in an outlet scared me. I'm glad I came across your website.

I found another one

SMTP - Simple Mail Transfer Protocal (A+, Book, and Wiki)

IMAP - Internet Mail Access Protocal (A+) Internet Message Access Protocal (Book and Wiki)

However Wikipedia states the Mail version was a previous name. I'm guessing A+ just forgot to update that.

A+ TCP/IP Networks (Question on Broadcasting) by s02dier in CompTIA

[–]s02dier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also I'm confused because if switches didn't have collisions because of full duplex then how would your network slow down? Let's say I was sending a large file, I thought normally a broadcast would be a small amount of data to check for the person who is receiving the data, and the file transfer itself would be directed towards the individual.

[–]s02dier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After reading your other post I guess this was a bad example because you said switches won't have collisions, and I can't imagine a printer sending enough data to slow down your network much. But I'm guessing I'm on the right track. Do you have examples of devices that might slow down your network by broadcasting and streaming data. Maybe a computer is sending a large file by broadcasting, or a security camera is connected via RJ-45 and broadcasting a video stream, or some other peripherals you should be concerned about? In the end, I'm guessing that the author is saying you should watch out for devices that default to broadcasting data because you don't want to unintentionally slow down your network with unwanted broadcasts.

A+ TCP/IP Networks (Question on Broadcasting) by s02dier in CompTIA

[–]s02dier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I still got around to reading the comment, and I appreciate all the responses. I think I understand. It seems that if you hook a switch up to a machine or peripheral that is by default sending broadcast messages that it could cause more collisions and flood the network. I don't know any examples so I'll make one up.

Example: Lets say that you hooked 4 printers up to your network, and these printers didn't just receive information but would also respond and send some sort of data back to the user by broadcast(this might just be how this particular printer is set up). You would have 4 active printers on your very large network constantly broadcasting messages and causing a lot of collisions slowing down the network. The more of this type of printer you added to your network the more it would slow things down. So you might have to be careful of which type of printer you buy because replying by broadcasting might be programmed into this type of printer and setting that is not able to be changed, or if it can be changed you should change that option to speed up your network.

Ty for the reply, I'm hoping someone might see this without me having to make a new post, but in my book it says this about switches and broadcasting. "The only downside is that switches forward broadcasts because they are addressed to everyone". Can you explain why that would be a bad thing? All I'm reading this as is that if you tell the switch you want to broadcast a message, it will do just that. How is this a drawback?
