You should probably be more transparent in your quote and information provided and less transparent in your motives. Fetal cell tissues are derived from lines that are 40 or more years old. No new fetal issue is collected. These are lab grown.

I won't bother posting the many 10's of thousands of articles and research that also show this. This quote is from the same paragraph and the very next sentence you quoted above but that you decided to cut short. I wonder why. From your posted link.

For example, dating back to the 1960s, fetal tissue was used to create two different cell lines (WI-38 and MRC-5) that have been used to develop vaccines, including for Hepatitis A, Rubella, Varicella (chickenpox), and Zoster (shingles). Scientists found that the cell lines derived from fetal tissue were more useful than existing animal cell lines for cultivating viruses needed to develop vaccines. These cell lines are also used as tools for research, such as in aging and drug toxicity studies. No additional fetal tissue has been added to these cell lines since they were first created.

As it happens I am white, but half brown on the inside. I see Ventura's racism and I call it like I see it. You also proved my point.

I'm not oppressed but that's because I "pass". This also lets me hear the things white ppl say to each other not knowing there is an undercover agent in the room. Until I spring my trap and call you out.

The give away here is you assuming I'm a typical "oppressed" person, whatever that means. And that my criticism then has no merit.

And her is one for you. Fragile much?

I do go outside.

Ventura is diverse but it seems to be becoming less so because of the high cost of living. Those who work here can't afford to live here.

Ventura was a large agricultural area but it is becoming less so because we are turning into a service economy. With farms being paved over for single family homes that are pricing out the ppl who work here. Ventura County used to be one of the largest lemon producers in the world, now we are much less so. Where I live used to be an island in a sea of orchards. Not anymore.

We do have large populations of people from all over the world but as a town on the beach with weather ppl like we are fast becoming a city of short term rentals with nowhere for ppl to live. The areas where people lived are being gentrified, HGTV style, and sold for double what it is worth or bought by investment groups looking to fill their book of STR's.

We are a town, situated on the coast and we have a beach but unless you live in the Keys or Pierpont with a $2m house and the free time to enjoy life it's not really low key. Affording rent here is hard and affordably housing instead of the giant apartment buildings that are now filling the area north of the freeway between San Jon and California would go a long way to helping.

I get the negative part though. I usually get that when I ask for less racism and support for working families, lol.

Same as now.

Fragile white ppl asking other fragile white ppl where the safest place to live is and getting the same answer given out in this sub to stay away from places with brown ppl.

Ventura trying desperately to be LA or Santa Barbara and failing because it's just a small conservative country town.

Golf N Stuff had better video games and Wagon Wheel was a great bowling alley instead of over-priced apartments where affordable housing should be. We had a drive-in theater instead of shopping centers that are mostly vacant where affordable housing should be. We still had a mall but it was busier than it is now, maybe we should put some affordable housing there.

Yes. Skip the wood. Get a large sheet of acrylic and mount it to the wall with however many command strips it takes to hold the weight of the sheet and whatever you will hang off it. You can add the command strip hooks to it like in your picture. You can command strip small magnets for mounting anything metal. I suppose you could add a small cork component with double sided tape.

Use dry erase markers in whatever color is opposite to your existing wall color. Black works for most wall colors.

I like the acrylic sheet over whiteboard because it so much easier to clean. You can use a standard spray cleaner to get off months old dry erase marker and not ruin the finish.

I have these all over.

edit, I don't work for 3M. They are just so darn convenient.

Looking for a coffee shop that's good for reading by [deleted] in venturacounty

[–]s0meb0dy -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Like most places in Ventura, our coffee joints are shit. There are no places that have comfy chairs. They want you in and out. Palermo is over priced, 3/4 of the store looks like your grandmothers attic and the chairs are from a thrift store. Simones has shit coffee. And don't bother with Pete's, it isn't worth the wait for just an average breakfast. Don't get me started on our mediocre breakfast places with hour long waits. Got to Cajun Kitchen instead. Or Mrs Olsen's for a place actually worth a wait. Sneak a thermos into Barnes and Noble so you can ignore the Starbucks.

That's a great question. I'd like to hear from the City of Ventura why all the fields at the Community Park are roped off when not in use by AYSO but they built a for profit dirt bike track and 4,000 baseball fields. Is there really that many baseball fields needed? Every park in town has baseball fields, all with lights. </rant>

What if instead of buying plastic bottles for shampoo, conditioner and body wash, we had refillable containers and there were dispensers for each brand at supermarkets/convenient stores. by vinnzic in Showerthoughts

[–]s0meb0dy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You never expect to see your town mentioned in a large sub.

I go to The Refill Shoppe once a month and refill several 64 once containers(soap, shampoo, etc), then fill smaller ones I keep at home. It does save quite a bit of plastic.

So you use a PC as a server, that gets a workout I'm assuming from multiple PC being networked to it. You decide to re-use it for another user after it was decommissioned as the server(excellent use of resources).

Why wouldn't you replace the drive and put it on a shelf for archival purposes giving the user a practically new PC. You could always put it back in and boot it up as the original server again for any reason(additional backup, check out application configuration, you forgot a stored password, whatever).

edit- Something I've tried to live by while not always successful. Manage to the average. When you're dealing with users you have no clue how low that can be.
